Obama is famous in American history for being the first African-American to be president in the United States making his tenure to be phenomenal. Obama is a Nobel peace prize winner for enhancing international diplomacy and enhancing cooperation among different people. The year 2008 is the year when I became familiar with the name Obama. This was due to the great campaigns which the Democrats made to ensure that their candidate wins the general elections for their presidential candidate. This was associated with numerous aspects which took place to ensure that he proves himself worthy of the top seat. Bama is said to undertake workout activities and which enable him to maintain his body weight despite his current age. This makes him remain fit and strong every time. Waking up in the Whitehouse is a dream that anyone across American dreams of.

But for a Black-American it seemed like a dream which will never come true. The comfort, security and the prestige that comes with the position is one aspect that only the lucky would attain. Reading through his books, one is able to understand the kind of a man Obama is. This is due to the subjects that he addresses and his views towards them. Obama can be characterized as an individual who would not settle for less and who is curious about life. In his book "Dreams of My Father," Obama states that during his adolescent time he had more than the share of his adolescent mayhem (Obama, Barack). This shows that his life was filled with many questions as he wanted to know more about his background. I began following debates in this country about poverty and healthcare…I was possessed with a crazy idea that I would work at a grassroots level to bring about change" (Obama, Barack).

This aspect shows how the things which happened in society inspired him to join politics. This, together with his visionary nature gave him the courage and pushes to make changes made him become persistent in political matters. He first became the senator for Illinois in 2004 after unsuccessfully vying for the same in 2000 (Maraniss, David). This was a milestone in his political career and which set a stage for him in the national politics in the United States and which saw him become president in 2008. According to Clack & Green (13), for over 27 years the couple has gone through thin and thick to ensure that their family remains intact. They have supported each other through the years to ensure that they fulfill their dreams and both in society and as a family. As a father, Obama has stood still to ensure that his daughters get what they desire in life.

During his speech on father's day in a Chicago church, Obama claimed that "My life revolves around my two girls…and what I think about is what kind of world I'm leaving them" (Clack & Green, 13). This shows how Obama appreciates his family. This shows his love for games as he believed that the world could be transformed and unity enhanced through sports. Besides the good aspects portrayed by Obama, he also was associated with unethical behaviors during his youthful stage. Just like any other young man, Obama is said to have been encountered stressful moments which made him indulge in smoking, drinking and substance use (Maraniss, David). Obama is said to have been smoking cigarettes for a considerable time in his life until when he vied for the presidency when he stopped smoking.
