Classification and division of movie genres

Like any other piece of classification in the entertainment industry, there are a number of elements with which movie makers’ use in categorizing their pieces of work. In some other words, it is these same elements that specific audiences will be expecting once they get to hear of a movie and from which genre it is from. In most cases this particular elements are the once that attract or rather draw once attention to watching one particular type of genre and leaving the other ones. This is for instance if today some individuals will more interested with comedy movies then tomorrow he or she hears of some new piece of art from thriller movie and one that he or she is also interested in then he or she will particularly wait to spent the money on the newly advertised as well as my preferred thriller movie.

Classification of one movie to one genre does not always limit it though; however, you will come to realize there are a number of genres that might be attached top single movie and this is due to the mixture of elements that have been incorporated by the writer so as to gain an end results that is to attract more or larger audiences. Black comedy is another sub group of the genre comedy movies. It is basically a series of comic story based on taboos or tragic subjects such as death, murder and even wars among others. These are just but a few to discus on the comedy movies type. Another genre that I focused my attention on is that of, documentary movies. It is basically a series of non-fictional pictures that are primarily intended to document a particular aspect or aspects of reality.

Film-noir is also another sub-genre that is primarily of distinct stylistic kind of crime drama or rather thriller, it was famously known in the mid 1990’s, and it was majorly characterized by its nature of being black and white style that was accompanied with the blatant light effects in them. Lastly in this genre, we have the sub-genre thriller which particularly integrates hypothetical as well as science based themes all into a plot of a film. Like any other subgenres, thriller movies also bring about a heart thrilling sense of humor alongside sense of mind relaxation. Conclusion To wrap up the paper, it is of essence to note that there are indeed a number of movie genres that are as inclusive of comedy, documentary, thriller, epical, melodrama and lastly horror movies and like any other kind of classification, movie or film classification can also be subdivided further into minor subgroups or rather subgenres all with different specific characteristics that make up them.
