Combat aggression and link it to sexual abuse and abuse

Aggression behavior is likely to cause harm to other individuals either mentally or physically. Aggression can take various forms such as physical, verbal, mental or emotional (Marshall, Laws & Barbaree, 2013). Aggression serves some different functions such as expressing anger or hostility, to emphasize dominance, to cause intimidation, to express possession and in response to fear. Aggression is influenced by some different factors such as biological factors, environmental factors, and other physical factors. Aggression is an explicit, often hurtful, social interaction which is performed by one person to another with the aim of inflicting damage or another unpleasantness to another person (Bruno etal. Sexually violent behavior is a biopsychosocial phenomenon which is becoming gradually a serious societal problem. For several decades, sexual assault has been a frequent research topic, particularly for women researchers.

According to various feminist scholars, there have been high levels of sexual abuse against women as a result of patriarchal, rape-supportive culture (Carvalho & Nobre, 2019). Violence and aggression are very crucial issues faced by modern societies. According to research, it is estimated that one in every six women in the United States of America experiences sexual violence in their lifetime. It is one of crime which goes unreported and remains one of the significant causes of assaulting women. According to various studies sexual assault and abuse are an intricate behavior which is likely influenced by some factors such as individual's developmental, family history, personality, environmental and other societal influences (Lussier, P. , & Cale, 2016). The development of negative attitudes and opinions concerning women by their male counterparts is likely to cause sexual aggression.

According to Bruno etal (2016), the sexual aggression confluence model states that individuals who have high levels of hostile masculinity and high levels of approval for impersonal sex are likely to portray sexual aggression characteristics. H02: There is no relationship between sexual aggression and sexual abuse. Method Participants The sample population for this particular study will comprise of 250 American college students studying in the four –year based Universities in the United States of America. Procedure All the research participants will be asked to sign a consent form, and they will be given guidelines on how to respond to the questionnaire. Upon completion of the questionnaire, respondents will be described as the research study and will also be given an opportunity to receive a copy of the research results upon the completion of the study.
