Conceptualization in America

Through torture and misconceptions they were belittled, strangers in a new land without say in the matter of their lives. Abraham Lincoln was the first person in authority to declare these people as American citizens when he abolished slavery at the end of the 18th century. This legality was passed into law and by the early 1800s slave trade was becoming less popular. Conceptualization is the ability to create and formulate ideologies (Webster np). Therefore, America has grown with the concept that African-Americans were lesser and inferior. Racists use these concepts to convince their minds that they are either superior or inferior to the other. In America, the African American were made to feel inferior to the dominant race, the whites. While on the other hand, the whites felt that were much superior and therefore, had more authority over the blacks.
This paper looks at conceptualization of America, the ideologies that shaped America, grew and matured it into becoming the super power it is. This concept has been illuminated by various people in the United States, whether white or black. Through this renowned statement from Chesterton it is clear that beliefs taught to the mind stick and shape their thoughts (Bakare np). The concept of America is on the ideals that have been imparted into the people of America. Both whites and blacks grew from history within this scope of their superiority and inferiority. History has over time taught lessons that have marginalized the people of America. Racism has been persistent in the land for generations. Through its political scenes, the play also incorporates the political lives of these characters. These incidents are incorporated into the politics of the United States.
Therefore, creating controversies within the American people, however, discrimination whether racially or gender biased is yet to be uprooted from the minds and lives of the American people. According to Siemen the movie was focused on racism against the African American. Which in reality was dwindling among them. Their main focus is creating an America that meets the standards of unity and acceptance. In recent years there have been reports of shootings from the police that have led to the deaths of colored teenagers in the country. According to various claims, the deaths were caused by white police officers. They have been accused of accustoming to the use of lethal force when they encounter a black person. These accusations and presented evidence show that racial discrimination has not yet left the bloods of the American population.
They were chained till they raised their fists and decided that they will not subject their children to such torture. Although the times have changed and the black people have their rights, there is no change at all. The people walk the streets oblivious of the fact that they are but wearing a different chain. The black people are considered as ballers and entertainers while the slave masters are considered as businessmen. Still, he sees the black man as a monkey with a ball who tries to get up but falls constantly. It is not strange to hear that a stray bullet maimed a black young man to death or that a police officer suspected a black young man of a certain crime and brought upon his demise. Although statistics show that racial discrimination in America is at three percent, I still hold onto the fact that this three could accelerate to a high percentage in a really short time if the matter is not handled properly.
One of the most shocking finding, however, is how racism is being handled even by the people to whom it is happening. An act carried out to determine racial discrimination in America shocked everyone since the black American actors were treated well but not shown all the mortgages and the houses as the white actors were shown (Demby, n. p). This still, does not make things smoother for John who ties to impress his father. In Modern America, the boy child is not necessarily the pride of the house but every father would smile a little just to know that he is having a son. Sons are seen as a means of accomplishment and continuity of the family line. Being half-blooded does not make anyone safe from racial discrimination. John’s father does not like him solely because he is not fully white hence he sees him not as his son but as an abomination (Gradesaver n.
Women in the past centuries played no important roles in the community. They were seen as objects of pleasure to the male gender. This created gender discrimination. In America, women in the past had no much say, however, compared to the females from the black folks, they had their respects in society. A white female could own a slave and use that slave as she would please. Racism is gradually finding the sharper end of the blade and women are strongly gaining their respect and rise, politically, socially and in the community. America is a dream land, a superior country around the world, however, within it are struggles. These struggles are the forces behind the rebranding and shaping of America. The concept of America, the perks and strengths that have seen it rise above the dominating world and stand tall.
