Cultural experience in literature studies
The interpretations and analysis of language in literary studies thereby equip an individual with the ability to manage and function effectively across diverse cultural settings and situations under investigation that may mostly involve participation to a different culture that the individual isn’t acknowledged about. This includes substantial researches focused on scholarly conversations in the identification of cultural concepts or norms in a particular group of people being studied. Being one among many students studying literary studies in my college, the school has increased competitiveness through offering us an opportunity to develop our intercultural skills based on the traditional curricula. Different approaches have been proposed to us in improving our experiences based on models of cultural intelligence, experimenting our learning and contact theories that would be useful even in our careers whereby we will have to effectively function and manage events among people of diverse cultures.
Cognitive Ability Starting with the first target of CQ, the cognitive and its relation to my classroom experience with other students from various cultures, the ability to work through different problems as well as stimuli was developed (Jauhari, 2017). To develop CQ Drive, the teachers gave us a group task that involved interaction with locals of a neighboring community, who were refugees from different countries (Hill, 2016). A sanctuary home had been established to cater to these individuals, but they further required support thus the task was given to us. Due to the difference in profile learning of students, also the locals had different problems that they routinely struggled to survive each day. We would use our cognitive ability developed back in school to adequately ensure that the locals are helped by the little assistance we would offer.
Further, they were from different countries; therefore, it required in-depth memorization of different interpretations of languages across various cultural practices and norms. This is because unfamiliarity with the cultures determines how an individual is going to think, behave or even feel in different cultural situations. On the other hand, the beliefs stirred up the internal motivation of the immigrants into forcing out the eagerness to step forward and make a change upon their lives. Metacognitive Ability In literature learning situations, metacognitive intelligence refers to the thinking level that involves the active controlling of thinking process in any given task. During the interaction period with the immigrants, metacognition was used through the plan on how to approach the tasks we had at hand, that is on how to interact with the immigrants, comprehension monitoring as well as evaluating the effectiveness of the event unto the immigrants.
The same situation in literary classes, maintaining motivation until the completion of the task such as till the results of examinations done comes through is still another skill of metacognitive. Due to the extensive practices based on different cultures, it was great to give a strategy on how to deal with certain problems through a word of motivation. The same applies to students who contain different profiles of understanding, and therefore motivation on different strategies to develop the students’ understanding ability will generate thinking over another thinking thus coming up with an ideal result of what to do to at least ensure that the understanding process is made better in class. CQ Action The CQ Action in an individual brings together the CQ Knowledge, drive and strategy whereby a behavior based on cognition, motivation, and metacognition is created.
Through the teachers’ struggles towards the development of cognitive intelligence, our expansion in the ability to adapt or adjust to new behaviors has been modified however it takes longer for most people to adopt the act. This is also constituted by the difference in learning profiles among the students. et al.
