The paper seeks to explore how these experiences have a significant impact on the child’s education, their physical and mental health, and social life, their social and romantic relationships and their education. The Effect of Education The emotional environment that a child is brought up in and their experiences with poverty influence the child’s development into adulthood. For example, individuals who were brought up in a caring environment are more likely to have positive outcomes in their education later on in life. In a different way, poverty which refers to the ability to meet the basic needs such as clothing, food, and shelter or lacking other capabilities such as respect, cultural identity, belonging, education and dignity affect the education of children. This poverty influences the educational completion rates of children; which has an impact on their life later on as adults.

al 145). This is because childhood poverty is typically accompanied by the absence of parents who may be too engrossed in working multiple jobs to make ends meet. Also, childhood poverty may also be associated with flimsy parental structures such as poor routines or a lack of rules because the parents may have not the time to emotionally and physically focus on their developing children. Additionally, these parents may be unable to provide the basics such as a balanced diet, a safe home, and a good neighborhood, that the children require to develop well physically. This then creates room for children to experiment, and to mingle with bad company. This shows that the hard times that she experiences as a child begin to have an impact on her mental health from an early age.

The Effect of Hard Times on Romantic Relationships and Social Life Children who grew up in supportive environments tend to understand the mechanisms of communication in that they experienced firsthand from their parents that they are there for them and that they are their biggest cheerleaders. This makes them more comfortable in their romantic relationships and more satisfied as well. This experience that parents expose their children to may not be intentional but their effects continue later on in the individual’s life. Phillip Larkin in his poem “This be the verse” highlights these invisible effects. In conclusion, the hard times that individuals face in their childhood have a significant influence on their future later on. In particular, poverty affects whether or not the child gets to complete their education which in turn limits a child’s ability to profit from school later on.

Also, a low socio-economic status has a long-lasting effect on an individual’s mental health and physical health later on because the status and the environment that they grow in may expose them to harmful habits or unhealthy environments. Additionally, parents behaviors influence how an individual may behave in their romantic relationships later on in life whether these behaviors by parents are intentional or not.
