Ethical Role of Police Subculture

Most of their actions relate to the view of the society to contain a group of hostile individuals and untrustworthy members of the community (Fitch, 2013). In most of the international police practices, the police bodies believe in teamwork nature of the job where they depend on teamwork and unity to help in controlling the rebellious public thus creating a complex dynamic of the public against police bodies. Therefore, this paper describes the ethical roles and importance of police subculture in the society. Most activities of the agencies in the society involve both terrible and good cultural practices that experience strong police subcultural practices. Most of the police operations in the community are viewed in a negative dimension that includes masochism, culture entrenched in cynicism, loyalty and the mentality of the police versus the notorious public (Fitch, 2013).

Police ethics relationships to the subculture begin at the moment competitive individuals are selected and recruited into the functional groups (Perez & Moore, 2012). During recruits training, the senior officers instill the cultural practices needed for the police operations by giving stringent instructions followed for the possible events of the team (Fitch, 2013). Nonetheless, the idea of becoming a full recruit into the police organizations does not come from general reasoning and adequate ideology depending on the interest of becoming a police officer (Perez & Moore, 2012). When an individual has the opportunity to join the police operational academy, the ideology of becoming a police officer is therefore natured, and the interests are mainly shifted into becoming a full executive law enforcement team. Some factors and tributes such as teamwork, bravery, and sacrifice abilities are instilled into the individuals thus making a comfortable environment for the individual to transform into operational police office (Bacon, 2013).

In the resent police relationship into the society, several positive subcultural values have developed thus creating a reasonable and positive correlation between the community and the police forces (Fitch, 2013). Initially, the law enforcement forces displayed the characters that suggested a contrary installation of additional values that affected the community negatively. The police officers created the environment that the society consisted of poor individuals that did not work towards keeping law and maintain peace in the community (Bacon, 2013). Therefore, every individual was treated as a suspect thus creating tensions in the relationship between the society and the police operations. Currently, the police have developed new reasonable subcultural practices such as care that ensures proper relationship between the organization and the police officers.

The training of the police ethical practices can relate to the clergy or priests training values. The sharing of character traits among the police officers mainly establishes and defines the conventional methods of every police officer (Fitch, 2013). The character traits that mostly define the police subcultural behaviors include cynicism, skepticism, and mistrust among the local members of the societies. The identified character traits apply to the law enforcing agencies thus creating an imbalanced society where the police do not have a sense of belonging to the average local organizations but instead create tension in their operations to keep away the community from their activities. About constant character traits formed in the society, the historical view of the relationship among police officers that mainly define the cultural practices includes analysis factors on how the police officers view the world operations (Fitch, 2013).

The police subculture defines the irresponsible character created that looks down upon the community but instead maintains a quality relationship with the police themselves. The senior police officers thus instill the values of subcultural practices to the recruits thus providing the idea of an independent operation to separate the police operations against the society. However, for proper monitoring of the activities by the law enforcing agencies, the corporations ensures necessary monitor of the events within the police operations thus criticizing the harmful practices such as unnecessary extrajudicial killings within the society. For instance, the police in the United States had developed the culture of contrary understanding of the black African Americans thus extended the unnecessary killing due to racial differences in the society.
