Consequently, the fast food industry has transformed how people across the globe eat. Fast food refers to a kind of mass-produced food that is primarily intended for commercial resale with the main priority been the speed of service. The fast-food industry is everywhere that makes it a global industry. Originally, the fast food industry was created as a commercial strategy to accommodate the diverse busy travellers as well as wage workers that had limited time for meals such as lunch and dinner. Fast food industry makes speed the primary priority of its service to consumers. Over the years, the fast food industry has created jobs for millions of people across the globe. In the United States, the industry has employed over 4 million people. For example, the fast food industry in the United States has over 200,000 restaurants and over fifty million people eat in one of these restaurants in a single day ("Fast Food Industry Analysis 2018 - Cost & Trends", 2018).
From these statistics, it is obvious that the fast food industry is one of the biggest industries across the globe. The demand for fast foods has grown due to several factors such as technology, which has resulted in the expansion of the global fast food industry. Furthermore, the executive management ensures that the operations of the particular organization in the fast food industry follow not only the corporate culture but also the culture of the industry. Besides, the executive management makes the organizational policies as well as ensures that they followed to ensure that consumers are satisfied. Typically, they also make the hiring and the firing decisions among other crucial decisions that require their authority and input. On the other hand, shift supervisors work under the executive management providing guidance, support and motivation to the workers of the restaurants in the fast food industry.
Conversely, regional managers are responsible for overseeing operations in different regions or in different countries that a business has a presence in. These employees play an integral role in preparing consumer orders and ensuring that they are prepared to satisfy the needs of the consumers depending on what kind of fast food is sold by an organization. For instance, if an organization specializes in the sale of burgers the preparation associates will have to cook or reheat lettuce, tomato, cheese and other ingredients required to make a burger, roll it up and place it with the right consumer order (Rosado, 2018). Moreover, they are also responsible for replacing frying oil, refilling ingredients as well as any other tasks that have to be performed in the preparation of fast food. Cooks and food prep associates report to their direct shift supervisors as they have to communicate with them constantly regarding the shortage of ingredients as well as other issues related to the preparation of food.
Conversely, the cleanup crew guarantee that the establishment is always clean and sanitary. Significantly, the fast food industry is characterized by high levels of efficiency. The fast-food industry is mainly run on low-profit margins and primarily makes their money by selling many of the products. Fast food is not considered to be a destination. Therefore, eating too many fast foods can lead to high blood pressure, heart diseases as well as obesity. For instance, in the united states alone almost 300,000 people die annually from obesity-related ailments. Moreover, statistics show that in the United States over 190 million people are obese or suffering from diseases related to obesity("Fast Food Industry Analysis 2018 - Cost & Trends", 2018). This is not the case only in America but also in many nations across the globe. However, fast foods are not the sole reason for obesity they massively contribute to the epidemic. For instance, the American fast-food giant Taco Bell has been cooking Mexican cuisine for a long time.
Depending on one's perspective it could be a good thing or a bad thing but many nations view this as cultural degradation. Moreover, in many instances it not the real food from that particular culture. The other issue that is been faced by the fast food industry is massive competition from the fast casual. Therefore, the fast food industry is losing its consumers to fast casual which is the fastest growing sector in the restaurant industry. This is because for Christians their entire life should glorify and reflect Jesus Christ. Thus, the manager should conduct the business with utmost integrity. This means that in every aspect that the Christian manager is running is honest, trustworthy and reliable. This is regardless of the size of the business. Although operating in the fast food industry where quality often compromised the Christian manager should offer quality products to their consumers.
A Christian manager must never forget that God has called them to be His witness in the world but not conform to the evil ways of the world. The business world is full of compromise that might lead to sin. However, a Christian manager should use their position to set a standard and to glorify God through their position. Moreover, when a Christian manager is committed to excellence they not only transform their lives but also demonstrate that the power of God is able to transform lives. This is communicated not only to their employees but also to their consumers. The manager should give his or her subordinates the opportunity to grow professionally as well as personally. Although the Bible orders employees to obey their masters it also orders employers and those in charge to treat their subordinates' right and fairly.
A Christian manager should not expect to be treated fairly by God if they do not treat their subordinates fairly.
