Fast Food is Killing People
Many people have different reasons as to why they take fast food. The financial position, addiction, quick food urgency and the situation are part of the reasons. In the last decades, people with obesity problem have increased significantly. Fast foods have far-reaching effects on the people such as heart-related complications and diabetes. In the United States, fast foods today are a primary source of calories, and this makes them the most destructive and most far-reaching effects on the population. In the United States, people spend about 50% of their budget on food on the fast foods. There is a significant number of people who are into fast food. Although, the people are aware of the impacts of the unhealthy foods the population seems to ignore the alarming statistics that indicate the threat of the fast foods.
The children in the society are the major casualty of the lifestyle diseases associated with the fast foods. Fast food benefits outweigh the health implications that they leave on people. People with obesity also have heart-related complications that are a significant cause of death in the population. Analysis of fast food pros and cons is not worth a person’s hard-earned money and the time because of its impacts that are fatal. An obese person may get a heart attack or stroke that may end their life. Avoiding fast food is a step in the right direction to reduce the risk of getting obese or even diabetes. The second, Affects insulin and diabetes type 2. The manner in which the foods get prepared and also the energy content levels in the menus are a threat to human life.
The people get the cravings and addiction, for instance, eating fast food one or more times in a week can have a high chance of frequently taking in these foods which is a cause for alarm (Fortin and Myra 130). The consumption of food containing high calories and the use of the high saturated salts in the foods over time will have a negative impact on a person. The people may experience an increase in their weight to the extent of getting obesity which is a major threat on the children in the United States. Taking too much of these types of foods may lead to the development of cancer which is a major cause of death. Severe depression may lead to the death or even loss of memory in what is known as post-partum depression.
The fast foods are in many respects harmful and unhealthy and cause loss of life. The fifth, Increase in the risks of the digestive diseases. The fast-food diet does not provide enough minerals and fiber required in a day. Fast foods that are rich in vitamins, proteins, and minerals increase the chances of diseases that relate to the digestive system such as small bowel cancer and colorectal cancer (Hawkes, Jewell and Allen 161). The food that gets produced in the fast food joints has calories that you require in a day in only one meal. A person’s diet is a conception of persons own knowledge and therefore if the food joints do not provide the information on what they are eating the people they will not know what they are eating.
When people are not well informed on the diets prepared in the fast food joints they run the risk of taking in a lot of calories. Families have many better options that may even surprise a person. Fast foods are not adequately taken care of, and this poses a significant challenge to people who feed on that kind of food. et al.
