Global digitalization

From the title of the book, we somehow get a thesis statement in that, the internet was meant to be a useful platform to its users but instead, its credibility has been distorted hence the need to return back the power to the people. Throughout the book, Astra criticizes the rhetorical distance created by those that are optimistic about technology but are unhappy and the happy skeptics of the technology. She builds her discussions based on how the internet is and how it should have been. She discusses different internet aspects from its history to the way it has affected people creation ability through copyright issues (Taylor, 83). She touches on the way internet controls and persuades people as well as how it can recreate issues of racism and misogyny to those who are not online.

The access to the internet is determined by the infrastructure that was laid by people who worked dangerously in the mines under difficult conditions who never got to enjoy the positive sides of the technology that is enjoyed by those whom dint work in those mines. Throughout the end of the book, the author does not offer any solutions. It concludes by showing that those that care about the potential of the internet to the nation- corporates will have to build a digital future that is sustainable (Taylor 183). The internet is still in the young stages despite some big corporations still benefiting from it, there is a need for us to challenge the shape the internet is currently taking. She says that we will need to take solutions that are collecting and that can influence political action (Taylor 218).

It has also affected the e-commerce and the business culture nurturing. Moreover, it has broadened the ways of political forum formation. The internet and education The internet has created many possibilities of learning and thus it has affected all levels of education. The internet has enabled tutors and students to develop new methods of teaching and learning, creating and sharing learning information (Suarez 67). This has enabled educators to develop methodologies of stimulating the minds of students. It is only those people who have accepted to be friends in social media, can have personal access to details such as pictures or other personal details. That means that personal information is protected unless hacked by a third party. In case of abuse, the user has the right to report. Privacy and security concerns are resolved within that day.

Different internet platforms have different privacy levels. The internet has lost the conventional meaning of time, distance and space. Cultural globalization has caught up and the cultural initiatives and processes are in move globally. In addition, online tools have created many opportunities. Various works, knowledge or information proposals are quite available. The internet is brought culture closer to the people making it accessible easily. The Internet has connected all people through tablets, laptops and smartphones usage. The online person availability has been of benefit in ensuring communication is done. The internet and consumer trends The information transfer speed in the current world has increased and this has led to increased shopping in the current market. There are numerous methods of buying news, leisure products, educational materials, and other materials through e-commerce.

This has become a common goods and service distribution channel. The total connectivity via the internet is growing daily with no stoppage. This is referred to as global digitalization. The future of social communication is much influenced by the change in technology. Mobile internet connection is highly increasing globally (Winston 146).
