This is because companies are on the watch out for people with the right skill and mentality to advance the firms objectives. I must place my best foot forward to ensure I am competitive enough to stay ahead of my peers. The internship program will provide me an opportunity to network with other students from many other institutions, and increased rapport and corporation with the industry. The many benefits that come with internship program notwithstanding, my will, determination, and passion are at stake since I have this strong feeling that I am not fully prepared. Some factors may hinder me from getting an internship, that is, • Firms have limited opportunities to accommodate student interns. • Lack of optimal mentorship program • The environment is too competitive with limited promotion opportunities • Limited openings for extra activity and classes for preparing students for internship • The system is marred with corruption and favoritism that affect transparency • A stagnant economic situation that hinders growth opportunities Since I understand it is not possible to find a solution to all the challenges, my intention to ensure I overcome the most prime issues since this will enable me to; • Increasing my competitiveness in the field • Increase the range of opportunities available • Position myself as a skillful person through learning Goals Each of the goals below will help me to track my progress.

If each goal is successful, I will increase my chances to secure an internship placement with ease. Through the use of strengthsFinder assessor to identify and assess my skills has gone a long way to pinpoint my strengths and weaknesses. This would enable me to leverage my strengths will putting in place a system to reduce my areas of weaknesses. The coursework will entail • a broad historical and analytical view of leadership and management in organizations, that give the 21st-century manager a practical help to deal with the intrigues of their respective industry. • Focus on theoretical perspectives on institutions, teamwork, motivation, personal development, and ethics • Exposure to group work, discussions and workshop • Leadership and management theories and their applicability in an organizational context, critical for success in the modern performance-driven job market.

Increasing my competitiveness remains a priority, and as such, my certification course will fall under the umbrella of vendor-neutral categorization. I will evaluate programs and providers to ensure I make a sound decision through; • Searching for accreditation with a well-versed institution such as the American National Standards Institute, over and above seeking endorsement in a discipline-specific professional association. • Enquiring from peers and employers within the profession about their experience, and recommendations on the most recognizable programs, certifications, and providers. • Principles of Cyber Security; the focus in this will be on cybersecurity protections and compromises, networks, best practices in security policy formulation among others • Digital Investigations and Forensics that touches on an aspect such as information security tools, preservation, recovery, and analysis of crime scene evidence. This will encompass: setting and identification of specific goal. This will gain traction through a careful discussion with my mentor and career advisor to ensure I do not set over-aggressive goals that will lead to failure. This program will be designed in such a way that it meets all my expectations. It is imperative to acknowledge that competition is cutthroat since all of my peers are looking for the equal opportunity. I will invest time and money to ensure each step of preparation is successful since failing in one will reduce my chances of getting an internship position. All potential companies will evaluate my candidature based on the value I will add to their operations as opposed to skills and experience I will get from them.
