It, therefore, means that human rights apply to anyone in the world, anywhere to suggest that they are universal and egalitarian. Human rights generally include freedom from slavery and torture, the right to life and liberty, the right to education and work, freedom of expression and opinion and many more. The international human rights law also plays a noteworthy role in the protection and elevation of fundamental liberties and human rights of individuals and groups of individuals. The United Nations has achieved a lot and contributed to international human rights by the creation of an ample organization of human rights regulation. Everyone aspires, and all nations in the world subscribe to the code which is internationally and universally protected. Human rights violation in the Russian- Chechnya wars The Chechen- Russia was is a centuries-long armed war that existed between the Soviet, presently Russian government and innumerable Chechen nationalists and other Islamic forces.

The war and other hostilities date back to 1785 and further back. The Russian empire developed an interest in the North Caucasus which was also a route to its enemies and communication routes to Georgia which was an ally. The Chechen rebelled against the Russian in 1785 due to the tensions that the Russians created in North Caucasus. Before being Sovietized by the Russians in 1921, the Caucasian nations and the Chechens lived in independence for a few years. They were killing anyone who came to their way and burnt down the village expelling its members. After the fight in Grozny, a mass killing took place in Staropromyslovsky district of Grozny between the late December and mid-January 2000. The “Human Right Watch” proved the killing of 48 people.

It also reported that the higher percentage of the civilians who were killed were old men and women. They also conclude that they were killed by gunshots which were at close range. During this time also, the Russians were ruthless and did not have any mercy. They did a lot of injustice to anyone including the minority, women, and children. In the bus moreover, many children were injured and some dead. Everyone who lost their lives in the bus was very innocent people who did not even participate in any war against the Russians. Russians thereby used a lot of arms including the tanks which gave them a lot of power and advantage over the Chechens. They were attacked using missiles even though the town was regarded to be one of the safest areas where people could seek refuge.

More than 150 civilians lost their lives that day from the missile attack and other more who were attacked by the combat helicopters. The Russian attacked invaded Chechen without issuing any warning and regarded everyone as an enemy that made them not spare any life that came across them. Other mass killings included the Russian troops killing 40 people who were fleeing Grozny in 3rd December 1999. Russian forces which were commanded by General Vladimir Shamanov engaged in a two-week rampage in the village of Alkhan where they killed 41 innocent civilians. Said Magomed case and his son who were detained by a group of armed men who stopped them on their way home from the market. Mr. Said was an applicant of the \European Court of Human Rights.

The incident happened on December 1st, 2000. Akhmad Kadyrov who was the head of pro-Moscow administration concluded that the activities of breaking into homes and abducting people were Russian ideas and they were responsible for such behaviors. The suspects were however found and charged with terrorism. Another incident of bombing took place in May 2002 where there was an explosion of a Russian made mine in Dagestani town. The explosion killed 45 people and wounded 175 soldiers and civilians who were by standing during a parade. There were also some suicide bombings that took place in Chechen where people bombed themselves publicly, in cars. For example the case of a nineteen-year-old who blew himself in a festival which was in a very public place with the high population on June 5th, 2003.

He reported the case in the year 200 after his released where an investigation was carried to reveal the suspects. Although he even knew the names of one of the brutal police and had other witnesses such as guards and detainees, the investigation was not successful, and justice was denied to him. The case was further reported to the Europe court of justice by the Chechnya Justice Initiative. Sadykov also described the tools that were used to torture him including dental and surgical instruments. Picks, saws, hammers, spades and fingernail removers. In this case, a lot of gender violations were made by the Russians who did injustice to humanity. Avenues of remedy of human rights violations The avenues of solution can be referred to as recommendations which would be done to stop the violation of the human rights that was rampant in the Chechen Republic.

The Chechen suffered a lot from the Russians who dealt with them ruthlessly and violate most of their human rights and freedoms. Some of the recommendations include the following. The Chechen should renounce all kinds of crime in the republic and stop any form of terrorism. The human rights will thus be appreciated and recognized by the public and other nations. To ensure that the individuals who were responsible for the violations of human rights in \Chechen are brought to justice, the assembly should corporate with the Russian administrations and authorities and employ international mechanisms of redress including non-judicial and judicial to the victims. They require to be brought into the global justice systems where they are supposed to answer for the crimes they committed in the war.

The assembly should also motivate Russia to appreciate and ratify the statute of the international criminal court immediately. The criminal court could be a better way of providing justice to the victims who suffered the war. There is also enhancement on war technology in which most of the countries today depend on complicated bombs and ammunition that can cause larger damage that the war tools used in the past. The United Nations in collaboration with the government’s and non-governmental organizations should be so lenient and come to resolutions strategies and methods which can be implemented to promote peaceful coexistence in different countries. Peace is all that most countries need more so in the wake of the 21st century. The world is moving at a particular stage where war is not the option to social, cultural political and economic problems that we face daily.
