This is God’s creation. The giving out of God’s richness of good is destined in the sanctity of God; the acquaintance of God; and the glee of the living being. God’s wish is for man to glorify His name by accepting and relishing his ‘God-ness’. The nonbeliever will in the end worship God by promoting His justice—God will in one way or the other get glory from man’s life since we are His creation and live in His universe. In the book of Romans chapter 11, verse 13 ff. The significance of biblical theology is much evident and much more is discussed in the following paragraphs. How is Bible Theology Vital? Through Biblical theology, Christians will have the knowledge that will enable them to reliably and accurately interpret the Bible.
Additionally, it will provide them with the opportunity of opposing sin, false doctrines, and ungodliness2. Biblical theology will enable Christians to develop a pattern of sound Biblical teachings and doctrines with love and faith in Jesus Christ. All things considered, since divine development requires theological studies, there can be no maturity without it. The book also seems to serve a unique purpose thus making the collection of books into one. The scripture in itself has a lot to say about the authority that it exerts on its adherents. People ought to have a factual and influential foundation for their belief. Most widespread faiths in this era have based their beliefs on human ideas which are mere philosophies. Christianity is rooted on the scripture and Christians affirm the authority of the scripture as it is believed to be inspired by God as it is His own voice and word7.
Biblical theology is an essential instrument through which God feeds the Christians’ souls and grows their faith. Through Biblical theology, Christians will have the opportunity of attaining spiritual maturity. Krejcir’s article will be useful since it will be used to provide sufficient background information on the concept of Biblical theology and its importance to Christians11. Through Biblical theology, Christians will have the knowledge that will enable them to reliably and accurately interpret the Bible. Additionally, it will provide them with the opportunity of opposing sin, false doctrines, and ungodliness. Believers of the Bible generally agree that they are obligated to follow the direct commandments as God teaches directly by means of direct statements and direct commandments14. The scripture has absolute authority for the Old Canonical saints, Jesus and His disciples in all matters it touched on.
Jesus made a point of affirming many passages that the liberal-minded had attacked. Oppositions to the sufficiency and inerrancy of the scripture are rebutted. A Christian would not believe that Christ was merely accommodating His listeners or mistaken thus cementing the authority of the scripture and all it holds. In Isaiah 42; 8-9, the scripture states that “I am the Lord! That is my name! I will not share my glory with anyone else, or the praise due me with idols. Look, my earlier predictive oracles have come to pass; now I announce new events. Before they begin to occur, I reveal them to you17. ” Evidence shows that it is God’s word and thus has authority. “Marriage and Family” as a theological element According to the “The Holy Bible, King James Version”, a family is a people leaving together in harmony and living as per God’s word.
Out of his own rib, he created a woman (Eve)20. In Genesis 2:24 , the writer being inspired by God explains that man will leave his father’s and mother’s house and take a wife, and they will turn out to be one flesh21. Here it is clear that the Bible, that has authority on Christians sets a clear path as was planned by God from the very beginning; a man and woman leave their parents’ home and are united by the church to form a neutral family22. The aspect of becoming one flesh not only denotes the creation of a new family but also to the wife’s and husbands sexual union that leads to procreation through childbearing. For all intents and purposes serves to keep up with God’s original commandment to the original couple to “be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth, subdue and have dominion over it” Genesis 1:28 According to Lawrence, Biblical theology is imperative since it enables churches to be healthy and have a lasting impact on the society.
It provides depth for Christian living, teeth for systematic theology, and a context for exegesis.
