Notably the success of each and every group depends on the ability of the leadership to lead and take charge effectively leading to positive impact or improved output. In fact, we all know this as it is well documented, however not every leader practices this and therefore sometimes it is poorly implemented by the leaders. Therefore, leadership can take place in various forms and ways and therefore it depends on how the leader plays out for example as a disciplined person with the required knowledge, skills, expertise and essential social emotional intelligence. For the case of this paper, I will interview a leader with the sake of finding their qualities of leadership and the need to find out whether they perfectly fit the definition of a servant leader.

The summary will provide various details regarding the practices of the leader that bring out the servant leadership in them and reasons why they fit the definition. ” In this case despite having the technical skills he still has talents and abilities that help him stay close with the workers. This therefore helps him understand his people better therefore helping the workers not only grow personally but also at the job. To start with William is the kind of person who not only helps the workers define the set work strategies and objectives or define the charter but also helps in setting the necessary criteria that helps in meeting the mission and vision. They also facilitate team work but also firm in their decision.

He noted that “I am very honest and reliable. His major argument in this regard was that people who work in group and work to enhance the group health not only enjoy a favorable working environment, but also improves their performance as job stress is reduced. To achieve this, it is required that the leader appreciates self-leadership, possessing high sociability skills as well as social emotional intelligence and be able to positively impact on the worker’s morale by personally being involved in the activities of the firm (Seto & Sarros, 2016). To him, leadership largely entail commitment, discipline and taking into consideration that you are leading people and not machines and therefore as a leader there is need to take into consideration the emotions and the ability of these emotions to hinder or promote achievement.

He says that “I try my best to listen carefully and try to remember that however hard, being open to change will give you the ability to push your own boundaries and improve your own skills. ” Further, William noted that your behavior as a leader largely impacts how the people you lead think about you and how they associate while with you. This therefore enables William to understand his associates and therefore recommend need for training and development in order to improve skills. He is therefore a good team manager, and good at engaging other people at the workplace, this therefore helps the workers to feel involved in the processes of the organization hence making valuable contributions. In summary form William possess the following skills that would help us label him as a servant leader.

These include; • William has great collaboration and group working skills with the team that they work with. • William also has good facilitation skills. He is keen to keep his goals and objectives in mind as they help the people achieve the goals. They help facilitate the people towards work through creating a room for proper interacting with the people as well as advocating for group achievement (Chen, Zhu, & Zhou, 2015). William is also keen to have hired a senior individual to interact with the people while advocating for team as a core factor for organization achievement and through this William was confident enough that the people would improve their bond and achieve better results. Further, William is keen to note how he checks the groups achievement against the set objectives and strategies.
