Legalizing Cannabis and Its Effects on Alberta

It’s of importance to analyze both the positive and negative impact of the legalization to the economy of the Alberta’s and the general public, the knowledge of this impacts will be useful to the government on its regulation of the cannabis drug when it is released to the public for consumption. Few years ago Alberta launched a plan to legalize marijuana which was widely praised the public and the stack holders, although through doing this the legalization posed serious negative effects to employment(Wettlaufe et al P. Many employers raised concern about the legalization especially on the impact of their employees who are already addicts of marijuana, the use of marijuana in operating sensitive machinery in the company the employee will not be able to clearly distinguish between different factors in the industry due the hallucinations effect of marijuana hence leading to errors.

These errors might cause serious harm and even death to the employees due to the legalization of marijuana by the Alberta’s. Through the Alberta cannabis framework the gaming and liquor act was amended on 30th November 2017, the amendment was framed to do three different things (Bryan et al P. Nevertheless, the long term use of cannabis which can be clearly demonstrated by the legalization of cannabis in Alberta, since majority of the people will use cannabis for a very long time they will automatically develop the long term effect of marijuana (Wettlaufe et al P. The long term or heavy use of marijuana will result into addiction of the drug where an individual will not life comfortably without using it on a daily basis whereby he or she will sacrifice all they had in order to meet their need of cannabis.

In fact the body cannot comfortably work well in a sober way hence they will tend to actively work better if an individual uses the drug. The people of Alberta most of them will have brain problems which is associated with the use of cannabis, the government will try all it can to make sure that at least people can have use cannabis effectively but some may tend to misuse the substance by using it raw ( Martin, et al P. The result of unprocessed cannabis will result to brain damage hence the damaged brain will now attract numerous diseases which will end up interfering with the life style of the people. The peoples physical appearance will obviously change because some of the cannabis user’s currently in Alberta one will easily distinguish a cannabis user from the non-user, cannabis users have bloodshot eyes which might on time end up causing eyes problem which will affect the victim vision(Wilkinson.

The legalization process would have considered the social impact of this substance not only considering the age limit, children for instance can easily get access to cannabis because they live with adults who use it and since there are no restriction to the consumption they will not bother letting the children have a taste of it which could later affect their health and brain function. Conclusion In Conclusion, the legalization of cannabis in Alberta from my point of view has negative impacts to it population health. Considering that Alberta is a developing economy, introducing cannabis will not improve the economy but instead slow down the economy growth. "Cannabis use provides symptom relief in patients with inflammatory bowel disease but is associated with worse disease prognosis in patients with Crohn's disease.
