Its influence hit the United States with a thud. Apart from being a manner of entertainment, hip-hop was an outlet where the minorities in the U. S. could make their voices known. Ever since its entry in the world of music, hip-hop music has been a continuous defender of civil rights. Psychologists are in amazement of the spectacular attraction that is raised by this genre. Questions such as what more does the genre have than the rest? What are the centers of attraction? Is it going to be a center of attraction even in the future? Are the constructs upon which psychologists base their argument? Again, the source of the music itself is an area of interest. There were psychological mechanisms that were behind the founders of the music.

Psychologists believe that the psychological underpinnings of the music are the same reason as to why the music remains as the preferred music among many youths. The fundamental perspective of hip-hop music is that it is multidimensional. The youths need not just be part of the American society. They can belong to any other community especially youths in developing African states (Peterson, 2014). The youths relate their suffering to the African Americans youths in the present when they relate to the wrath that was meted on their fathers and their grandfathers. Hip-hop is a time mapping of the struggles that are faced by the rational African American youth amidst racial discrimination. The hip-hop culture appeals to the listeners of the music, and the psychological attention that comes with it is unavoidable.

Their employees are on the other hand poor, have low levels of education, and they are paid peanuts. Max criticizes this setting in a manner that is very confrontational. He states that it is such a dangerous setting that may soon land the world in economic sabotage. From Marxist theory, an idea that is commonly displayed in hip-hop can be fronted. Almost every hip-hop song will remind the audience of the stressing conditions that the artist went through before they grew up. Again, their masters were harsh on them. They forced them to work on large tracts of land where they (the masters) made a lot of wealth from the produce. The slaves, on the other hand, received very little and were themselves perceived as subjects or as part of the wealth of their masters.

Marxist view of employees and their employer is justified in hip-hop music seeing that African Americans are employees in factories and they are paid very little while their employers earn tremendous benefits. From the point of criticism, the Marxist approach would consider the lives of standard black people who have made it in the top echelons of government (Ralph, 2009). The action is mainly focused on making them remain workers while the wealthy ones remain employers. The proliferation of this fact is therefore adamantly evident in hip-hop. Hip-hop is thus a serious kind of music which by far enjoins communism though in a capitalist state. The Feminist Perspective Modern hip-hop and feminism cannot be put asunder. The world is in a cultural climate where empowering women is the order of the day.

Most feminists, however, agree to such expression of women in the songs. Feminists believe that women should enjoy same privileges as women, should be treated just like men and lastly, women should be given the right to engage in any activity as far as they deem the activity right. From a critically thought position, it is evident that hip-hop music exploits the female gender. The view that women are objects of attraction is wrong from a feminist perspective. Women are supposed to be given space to grow and realize their untapped potential. Since nudity dressing is highly regarded in the genre, most American women are taking up the trend. It is therefore essential to declare hip-hop of reverse effect to feminism.

Correlation between the Psychoanalytic, Marxist and Feminist Perspectives Psychoanalytic, Marxist and feminist perspectives of the hip-hop culture vary immensely. However, there is need to consider that the culture has its causes that can be explained regarding Marxism, feminism and even in psychology. The culture came about as a result of these three factors. African Americans live in abject poverty as a result of poor pays from their employers who are mostly white. Any critique of the Marxist approach of hip-hop music can therefore not stand. However, the genre utilizes women in an overly sexual manner and hence it is wrong in the feminist's view. References Haaken, J. , Wallin‐Ruschman, J.  Hip, 2012.
