Muslims are seen as a contagious people who are malicious and careless about human life. Western governments like the Americas have criminalized Muslims through adoption of policy changes. In this paper, we develop a review of the literature about the perception of the Muslims. The Americanization and its influence has wrought peace with a lot of mayhem. Following the bombing of the US in September 11, the perceptions of Muslims and the believers of Islamic religion has taken another profile. Hollup (1996) described that such a tendency has come with its ramifications on social, political and economic situations in many countries dominated by Christians. Muslims face opposition as a result of migration in the plight of the social and economic establishment. Western economies led by the United States and Britain have singled Muslims as extraneous because of the present economic and political strife in the east.

In the present paper, we seek to explore the pertinent issues that have warranted such a subjective and highly contagious decision about Muslims. Under such an understanding, the paper shall present violent extremism and political ramifications prompting current perceptions about Muslims in the western countries. Still, the innocence remains virgin until groupings opposed to peace emerge and commit to retaliatory undertakings. The consequence becomes widespread, with the bomb missiles and suicide bombers sent on a mission to damage the countries supporting the war against the terror groups (Francis, 2012). No wonder, the attacks of Paris on the November 13th, 2015, and many other between September 11th, 1998. Schmid (2014) described that extremist ideology is one that craves to hurt, overthrow a system and ever opposed to peace missions.

Muslims has several groupings within the religion with a specific purpose of increasing the spread of the good news of Allah (Gelfand, LaFree, Fahey & Feinberg, 2013). El-Sherif describes political situations in the Islamic states as degenerative and aims to stifle criticism from the religious sects. It has led to the slow decline of the religious groups like the Muslim Brotherhood. Fundamentally, five repercussions are impending as a result of the subjugation and revulsion they are facing. These include a triumphant comeback, total eradication by new regimes, increased Islamic fluidity and mobility causing fragmentation, or reconciliation with the regimes. These issues solidify the inability of the Muslim believers to effectively oppose regimes, but rather a rising need to be appreciated as part of the great contributors to both Islamic and religious ideology (Wolffe & Moorhead, 2014).

” It is by the religious beliefs that Muslims believers continuously consolidate efforts to make a better world where peace and love control the social and political landscape (Wolffe & Moorhead, 2014). Inadvertently, malicious journalism goes beyond interpreting information according to the established code of journalism where they emphasize on the negative social and political implications associated with Islamic religions. Consequently, the abhorrence of Muslims which has led to a myriad of policy changes is only tied on the negative journalism in the western countries. Moreover, the control of media by the government agencies have led the journalists into maintaining that Islamic religion is detrimental and is associated with radical extremists out to destroy the peace and love in the societies. Ayuba (2013) developed a sociological and moral approach to internalize the Muslim ideology about the modern social and political issues.

It is through the accurate identification of violent Islamic doctrines that government is likely to foster positive military combat against the radicalized group. In essence, the process helps in saving nonviolent Muslims from discrimination and espionage from non-Muslims. As a result, it is wrong to discriminate the Muslim believers based on mere assumptions that they leash hell on their countries. Essentially, the effect takes effect when government discern specific intentions of Muslims and react according to the need thereof. Paulson, “because once a Muslim, always a Muslim. ” Subsequently, discriminating policies against Muslim intrigues on the fundamental social and economic principles which establishes integration in the society. Muslims are partners in the war against terrorism. Religion and Muslim Ideologies The Muslim religion is perceived as a “violent religion” which subjectively questions the hatred Muslims have against other religions.

Valley (2015) described the disposition as a mere assumption because rarely are the Muslims asked about the question of dislike of other religions or violent extremism associated with their religion. Still, non-Muslims have been fed with the television broadcasts where Muslims are identified as terrorists under bounty. The Muslims pose a threat to the political standing of the superpower. As a result, it is insufficient to conclude that Muslims are not peace loving and are intricately determined to subject the world to political intolerance. Conclusion The perception of Muslims in the society has changed greatly following the September 11, and other subsequent attacks where Islamic patriots are identified as perpetrators. Coupled with the immense impact of journalist activities, Muslims have felt the pinch of suppression due to ideological differences.
