While the aspect of integration is critically viewed by the global ethnic diversification, aspects of industrialization and globalization. These aspects of segregation and integration are still felt in the 21st century and they contribute significantly to the development and shaping of social lives in cities. The paper focuses on analyzing the different pieces of evidence that support this perspective. Physical Processes of Segregation Segregation can result from the physical parallels that are established by the social processes of that have particular commonalities. Most importantly, the individual choices play a critical role in social fabrication that eventually results in social segregation of residential patterns. Critically, the Schelling model demonstrates the theoretical foundation for observing the residential preferences and its relevance to comprehending ethnic patterns in metropolitan regions (Cortez & Rica, 2015).

Further, the aspect of social segregation has shaped the multicultural settings that show substantial racial and ethnic aspects. The Theory of Blau about Social Integration According to Blau, social structure refers to the joint distribution of social characteristics within a specific population. A key characteristic of social structure is the extent of diversity observed within a population such as the ethnic diversity. Another critical feature is the existence of different social distinctions that are related such as the relationship between individual income and ethnicity. Therefore, the opposing social segregation processes are highly dependent on no change, the increase or decrease of the income distribution and the racial in relation to economic aspects in the decisions of the residential mobility. Kindler et al. (2015) demonstrate that the relationship between aspects of diversity and dimensions of social integration -trust and neighborhood connections- are negatively connected to the extent of mutual connections in the community. However, other scholars such as Wickes et al. The community is, therefore, likely to increase its ethnic diversity that is related to lowering the social capital but the society is likely to gain positive inter-ethnic connections and ties within their social networks. Therefore, communities that have the experience of bridging ties are rarely affected by aspects of diversity as opposed to communities that do not have such inter-ethnic connections. The aspect of diversity may erode interconnectedness and the extent of interaction between members of the community and this may cause them to experience lowest social capital levels.
