According to research, it is indicated that young adults have practiced oral sex prior to their initial experience with intercourse; meaning, a majority of them are more experienced in oral sex compared to vaginal sex. There are different types of oral sex; Cunnilingus, also known as Oral Vaginal Contact, involving stimulating a woman’s vagina orally particularly her clitoris using the tongue and lips. Fellatio, also known as Oral-Penile Contact, involves stimulating the partner’s penis normally by sucking or licking and Analingus, better known as Oral Anal Contact which is the stimulation of one’s anus using the lips or the tongue. Describe to what extent or in what ways the behavior is considered acceptable or deviant Over the years, the young adults have considered this type of sex much “safer” as compared to vaginal sex but this claim is not true because even though one cannot get pregnant through oral sex, it might lead to one contracting an STI (Tarun, 2015).

Those involved in this practice must know of its association with various STIs including gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis, HPV, among others and all these, can be transmitted via oral sex. Some movies and television programs, for instance, shows the explicit sexual content which includes deep kissing and even the real sexual intercourse. However, the society is deviant on behaviors such as deep kissing, inappropriate touches, and even the real sexual intercourse. Regulation should be put in place to help deal with the rising issues and abuse and to counter the effect of media in relation to sexual behaviors. Gagging is the most appropriate method to stipulate the behaviors which need to be shown and portrayed in the media (Rebecca & Collins, 2010). Describe how the behavior is addressed in the media and provide examples The growing number of young adults that explore their sexuality at a much younger age might be in relation to the continuous pounding of messages related to sex in the media (Rebecca & Collins, 2010).

TV has always aired the contents of sexual activities, but recently it has become more graphic. Even though legislators and advertisers are against the growing amount of such contents, it continues to spread widely on TV. Shows like “Nip/Tuck” and the “The Real World” are becoming mainstream cable TV staples while network TV airs show like “The OC” and “Desperate Housewives” that contain a lot of sexual content. So the young adults find it easy to tune in to such shows and watch more of the sexual content as they wish and these contents obviously involve oral sex. Describe the impact that the media portrayal may have on societal perceptions of the behavior A researcher known as Brea Malacad from the University of Alberta did a study on oral sex which indicated that there is no doubt that oral sex has developed into a common practice of sex for the adolescents (University of Alberta, 2010).

It has created negative impacts in the society, and it is the reason for the rise in cases of early pregnancy, the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and even the spread of uncouth behaviors in the society. Source 1 According to the Journal of Women’s Health, among the young adults who are sexually active, oral sex is seen as normative. Recent studies show that oral sex is spreading widely that intercourse and non-profitability studies’ findings have suggested that having oral sex creates a risk of contracting STIs like gonococcal pharyngeal infection, Chlamydia trachomatis, human papillomavirus (HPV), and HIV (Laura, 2011). Source 2 According to Journal of Pediatric Psychology, little is known regarding the oral sex experience as compared to vaginal intercourse but for positive impacts, young adults in the United States believe that oral sex is not as satisfying as vaginal sex as the latter is more intimate and pleasurable (Mitchell, 2003).
