" Do you think Socrates would have reached the same conclusions had he been a young man of 20? Socrates would have reached the same conclusion had he been 20 years old during the events of Crito. He was a philosopher who believed in not breaking the law. He believed that the law should have been obeyed in full. He believed he had done wrong by corrupting the youth by preaching false gods. It is a conviction he had about god which the Athenian people believed to be false gods. Why is Socrates in jail? Why does he think he is innocent of the crime? Also, who is Crito? Socrates is in jail because he is accused of preaching false gods and corrupting the minds of the youth with his philosophy.
