In pleasing people, the lesson here is we need to be very careful In the play, Tartuffe, is a beggar, who pretends to be holy and earns the \Mercy of Orgon when he took him in from the streets. In the beginning, since a lot of people here knows nothing about him, Tartuffe, takes the chance and continues to play holy as he watches Orgon’s family divide in opinion about him. T gets worse to appoint that Orgon’s mother, Madame Pernelle believes Tartuffe is the best exemplary lifestyle of a man. Orgon follows his mother’s opinion and even gives off his daughter to be married to Tartuffe. In extremes, Orgon disinherits his son Damis, due to talking “falsely” about Tartuffe and at the expense of securing Tartuffes trust.
