In an effort to right the wrongs, victims tend to pursue avenues through which they can attain reprieve or solutions. Agencies that make up the criminal justice system will have to work seamlessly so as to afford victims of wrong doing a fair closure to issues that have befallen them. Acquiring justice has also proven to be elusive in some instances due to factors beyond the victims` ability. Reasons why getting justice is hard Getting justice was meant to be a fairly easy process; but this has not been the case due to a host of reasons, one of them being the overreliance of eyewitness in cases. For a long time, there has been an assumption that the presence of witnesses was the surest way of ensuring the conclusive determination of cases.

People with poor memory may provide unreliable witness account. In regard to use of confessions, there is a common belief that individuals who are guilty are the only ones who confess to crime. Innocent people may pushed to confess to crimes they never committed especially if those who are carrying out interrogations are rogue police officers and law enforcers Juries may be a source of anguish, because there seems not to be any scientific process or methodology, which they utilize in arriving to their decisions. People never get to understand what was actually done when the jurors met and made conclusions in the way they do. It’s therefore a 50-50 chance of getting justice, and this is definitely a tricky position for any individual to be subjected to (Volokh). Guilty pleas should never be construed to mean automatic sign of guilt.

Proof should be attained as to whether the guilty verdict based on such pleas is validated in practice of law. Some of these types of results may have been arrived at as a result of collaboration among overzealous rogue individuals within the criminal justice and law enforcement chain. The same individuals have been known to create of fabricate crime that never was with a drive of either intimidating or getting back at an individual or institution (Volokh). In America, offenders have been getting sentences that may be deemed to be exaggerated. This would help eradicate instances where people are manipulated into pleading guilty to crimes they never committed nor have knowledge of. Having information on the basic matters will go a long way in streamlining the path to justice though in a slow manner.

Help should also be provided to individuals who may not be financially able to pursue justice on their own volition. The government should also work towards making seeking justice to be within reach of every citizen financially. Appointing of anti-racist judicial officials is also a possible remedy that will ensure justice is served. Laws about racist judicial officials should be developed whereby, any official found being unjust to a person from a different race, should be penalized accordingly. Reason for feeling strongly about there being no justice The absence of the rule of law is an abomination in itself. It demoralizes citizens whether in their own nation or in foreign lands. In turn this contributes to diminished sense of nationhood and a sense of belonging. When an individual is unjustly incriminated and sentenced, the pain felt affects not only the individual but close associates; friends and family members stand to suffer immensely.

For instance, James Richardson from Florida was accused of poisoning his seven children and imprisoned for twenty-one years (Mikep n. p). The judges and polices officers investigating this case did not conduct proper research. He was released after the nanny confessed of poisoning the children. this means that no interviews were conducted after the fatal incident.
