Republican advocated for reduced regulation, free markets and low tax rate while Democratic led by Hillary had manifesto that addressed concerns of voters like wealth distribution, economic growth and employment opportunities. Both Trump and Clinton had different vision of the future America during their campaign and after Trump ascended to power, he has made great changes to some of the economic and political system which is now different from that of Obama. Vision on Infrastructure The Democrats felt that major federal investments will be important in reversing the middle class which is already declining while Republicans did not advocate for investing a lot of resources in the infrastructure. In fact it should the party intended to phase out the program meant for federal transit. Although people might be in need of these services like bridges, airports, rails and roads among others, it will be the decision of the president to decide which project should be funded. This means that it is not a must for them to be funded. According to the party, there is little accountability in Highway Trust Funds since more than 25% of the allocation is diverted to other projects. Similarly the Republicans embraced Bush’s way when it comes to foreign policy which is a conservative. They criticized Democrat, specifically Obama for being weak and lenient to the terrorists (Beauchamp, 2016). Donald Trump scrambled the debate entirely.

He criticized the Obama regime for appeasement of dictators. According to him, America was to all that it takes to increase its resources. Today, Trump is already implementing this foreign policy. America has already dropped a non-nuclear bomb in Afghanistan a country perceived to be a stronghold of IS. He has also driven the IS out of Syria and Iraq (BBC News, 2018) Immigration Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton of Republican Party and Democratic Party were universes away from each other on the issue of Immigrants, border wall and Islamic States. The President to be was in one way or another targeting the immigrants through either deportation or giving them work permits. Republican Party through its presidential candidate reaffirmed their support of having mass deportation of 11 million undocumented immigrants, end citizenship by birth for immigrants and construction of the boarder wall at the border of Mexico at the expense of their neighbors.

Clinton in contrast was accommodative and wanted to pursue the law so that she could create a pathway for the qualifying immigrants to get their citizenship. Shewas concerned with the families. She wanted to end detention of families and grant relief of deportation to the Dreamers. The party did not want to break the family by deporting children (Serwer, 2017). Clinton seemed to be understanding by identifying with the plights of the immigrants. Economic Policy The major difference is that Republicans envisioned a free market economy while democrat preferred an economy that was controlled by the government. The USA economy was just recovering from the 2008 financial crisis. In order to analyze the difference in the economic visions between these political parties, it is important to look at these parties in terms of personal and corporate tax plans, market and business regulations, wages and employment.

Democrat believed that it will be better if we had a government-driven investment, government taking full control in matters of wages, a fair system of tax that will lead to redistribution of wealth and resources and expanding business regulations. On contrary, the Republican was contrary to this as it believed in the market forces to take control of the economy. They feel that this will be important in eliminating the loopholes and scores of deductions. Therefore the tax bills will be proportional to income. This vision of Republic is likely to be successful with a free market economy proposed by the economic visions of the government. It will lower the capital gains. More corporation will benefit from this incentive and invest more and result will be growth of many businesses in America hence job opportunities.

There is an inverse relationship between taxes and the level of economic growth. The vice versa is true. This means that on contrary, lowering personal or corporate taxes increases yield and corresponding growth. This point therefore tells which party had the best vision economically. The proposal by Republican Party to lower personal, capital and corporate taxes will also lead a proportional growth in the economy while the higher rates as envisioned by the Democrats will slow the rate of economic growth. This is why he was so obsessed with repealing the Obama care as the first thing after getting in office. This made him not to have major health plans in his manifestos (Smith, 2018). Suppose that Hillary Clinton would have clinched to power, a lot could have changed in her leadership especially when it comes to Foreign policy.

Although in the above discussion we have displayed her as peaceful candidate who does not want to use force on enemies, this is not true. She was only but following legacy of President Obama. Currently there is an appeal over it in the courts. The third player in elections Previous elections have seen the American political field with a third player in presidential election. Although the American politics has been shaped by two parties, there have been other parties which have presented a presidential candidate in election (Green, 2010). The candidate garnered a substantial support as a third party and was able to get 8.

Mercantilism theory can help in understanding his motivation and the tactic he is playing. Using this theory, we get that these tariffs are meant to maximize export of America and minimize its imports so as to enable domestic industries to grow. Situational theory- Trump analyzed the political situation of that time to come up with agenda. However there are some promises that have not fulfilled. They include the construction of border between America and Mexico. Finally, there was few deportation activities of illegal immigrants unlike the 11 million he had said. References BBC News.
