Unique Features of PubMed

PubMed has unique features that set it apart from other databases. Most of these unique aspects are designed to make it user-friendly. One of the unique features of this database is that by default, It returns twenty search results in a page, a feature that is not found in other databases. It also displays the title of the article of book or journal being searched, an abstract, and bibliographic information whenever one clicks one of the displayed results (Lu, 2011). Such a strategy makes it easy for an individual to have a skeletal idea of the article or book that he wants to study and can find it easier to make citations. Lastly, the My NCBI tool was incorporated into PubMed; it enables users to choose and create filter options, apply personal preferences, save search results, and share collection of citations.
