Despite being very entertaining, largely, video games influence the behavior of the player. Consequently, many researchers have performed various studies regarding the impact of video games on the player’s behavior. The researchers have made several claims regarding video games and violence. The researchers say that violent video games video games negatively affect the behavior of a player, reduce social interaction, and cause laziness. On contrary, I say that video games positively transform the world, enhance social interaction, and make children much active. Another researcher, Wood (168-169) feels that video games lead to addiction. According to Wood, despite the fact that video game is a nice way of passing time, when done in extreme, an individual becomes addicted. Wood study reveals that when kids are not controlled in playing, they spend most of their precious time playing games.

Addiction is really a terrible thing in that kids never engaged at any productive activity at their homes. This implies that addicted kids do not study well or accomplish their school assignments. This courage gives them confidence to commit violence in real life, without worrying much. In another study, Gee argues that despite the entertaining nature of video games, they cause aggressive behavior in children. It is impossible to deny the fact that the contents of video games have become very violent in an effort to meet the user demands. Boys normally like action movies and violent contents. Therefore, video game makers are persistently working hard to meet this demand. Conversely, kids with greater self control are lowly impacted by violent video games.

Even when these kids become violated they hardly respond with violent actions. In addition, as suggested by Granic et al. , video games promotes anti social behaviors. Genetics plays a significant role in the personality of an individual. A person raised in violent environment has a greater probability of becoming violent in future. As Indicated By the Researchers, Video Games Causes Laziness and Aggressiveness According to Cox, overplaying video games causes the player overweight and increases laziness. A person spends most of the time playing games and there is limited time left for exercise. Consequently, a person becomes overweight and is unable to work (Cox). Laziness is one of the factors that are associated to violent behaviors in the society. Teaching kids how to defend themselves in case of an attack in real life is surely a good thing.

They normally teach kids different things including ways of overcoming fear, ways of dealing with a challenge, and several other positive aspects. These skills might help kids to deal with real life challenges and have the best option whenever it comes to decision making. In addition, I feel that although video games might make the kids to behave aggressively, the amount of violence in these games cannot be compared to the amount of violence in television and movies. Most TV action programs are filled with violent actions. Moreover, right at the start of this game, the player must decide means of infiltrating the terror organization skillfully to avoid being killed. Here, the player must think deeply and take time to decide on the best attacking technique.

These options will undoubtedly ignite some sense of logical thinking as well as strategy formations, which formal education does not offer. Again, I Feel That Video Games Enhances Social Interaction Unlike the researcher’s assertions, I believe that video games enhance social interaction. Personally, I have made several friends when playing video games. Video games offer a room for aggressive kids to play with the fantasies of conflict, aggression, and danger. If the player does not overly engage in playing violent video games, the player only perceives it as a way of relaxing mind. Conclusion I strongly believe that although video games cause aggression in children, playing video games has more advantages than disadvantages. Video games is one of the factors that can cause aggression in children but there are still more factors.

The idea is that violent games have a propensity to influence the thought process of its players and consequently result into as hostile characters as the very same ones they have in the games. This paper now seeks to elucidate why people are of the school of thought that there is need to tone down the concern towards video games as being the root of violent impulses in society. Although very interactive in nature, there has been no backed scientific evidence that shows a causative relationship between video games where players engaged in ghastly tasks, and their social behavior. In fact, an experiment was conducted by Morgan J. Tear and Mark Nielse in 2013 to determine whether there is a possibility of reduced concern towards the welfare of others after playing violent games.

So far, however, no regulator has brought forth any evidence that proves aggression as an effect of video games. Other scientifically driven studies have also found no evidence for an impact of playing violent or non-violent games on an individual's behavior. An experiment on the correlation between video game culture and hostility published in the Psychiatric Quarterly issues of April 2015 provided a conclusion to which my opinion is firmly rooted. An interesting twist was however noted in the discrepancy between the responses of boys and girls when exposed to the games. The female participants got stressed when exposed to a violent game as compared to the males. " Psychiatric quarterly 87. Crump, Elle. "Turn That Game Back on: Video Games, Violence and the Myth to Injury to the Public Good.
