Despite the long working hours, and work just as good or even better than that of men, their salaries are way lower compared to that of men. What this means is that equality has not been achieved fully. This is also evident in the manner in which pregnant women are treated in hospitals when they go for delivery. The treatments they receive is not fair considering the much they go through during that period, with some of them remaining at their working places throughout the pregnancy period. Instances such as the unhygienic practices expose them to diseases that end up affecting their lives or even leading to the death of either the mother or the baby or even both. Women had no say.

However, a few reforms have been made, such as loosening the male guardianship laws, being granted the right to vote and run for elections in 2015. And most recently, the ban on women's drive that had lasted for decades was lifted. The article Measuring mistreatment of women throughout the birthing process: implications for quality of care assessments, takes a different approach from the previous two articles and focuses on the mistreatment of women, particularly the pregnant ones, in the health facilities they go to deliver in. it is clear that despite the high-quality care that should be granted to pregnant women, due to the sensitivity of their conditions, health practitioners choose to sideline them, and mistreat them in numerous ways including verbal abuse, unhygienic practices and lack of privacy.

Agricultural training, for instance, cannot be applied because the farms solely "belong" to the men, who are not directly involved in the programs, and they are the ones to decide what should or should not be done on them (Surdashan, 435). Nermin Allam agrees with Surdashan that men are a major obstacle to the economic development of women. In this article, women are freed from some form of captivities but there is always an agenda behind it. For instance, the ban on women's driving was lifted, but the women's rights activists behind the campaigns to lift the ban were later on arrested. In another instance, Habib Bourguiba and his successor President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali presented and unveiled Tunisian women in an image to symbolize secularism, modernization, and democracy.

Poor pre or post handling of these women is dangerous to their health and that of their babies, born or unborn. How then, are they supposed to work effectively when their health is put at risk? When they constantly have to take their babies back to the hospital due to the physician's negligence? Women Workers: Addressing Constraints to Work by Ratna Surdashan makes the greatest contribution towards the development and comprehension of women inequality. The article gives a background of the issue, gives statistics that support the existence of women inequality and one after the other, explains how different initiatives, including STEP, has been implemented and the challenges encountered during the implementation. It finally gives a conclusive summary of the entire article.
