This paper demonstrates my development in acquiring new writing skills and the ability to use the learned skills. This saves me from writing problems that unskilled writers who lack experience face since they waste a lot of time in beginning to write. Mostly inexperienced writers are blockers like in Sondra Perl's article we are introduced to Tony who had many challenges when it comes to representing an idea through writing (Perl 334). In the article, it is clear that Tony found it difficult to transfer an idea into writing especially when it comes to the development of an essay. The perception that I am a non-blocker has assisted me a lot in my writings. I would pick the books to see the pictures drawn in the books that seemed so interesting to me.

After perusing through the pictures, my dad would tell me stories from the book I was looking at the pictures drawn in. Sometimes my father would teach me about the letters of the alphabet. This is the reason why I always consider my father as my first literature sponsor. Most of the times that my father was not around my mother would ask me to pick the books from my father's table so that I could practice reading any of the books. My father explains that most things I would like to talk about were mainly the events that occurred in school. According to my parents, some of my struggles when I was young included the struggle to have good grades. They tell me that any time I learned that there is a student who has performed better than me in my class, I would not be happy.

It is my success that through my struggle in education I have worked hard to reach where I am today. My focus on the writing skills began when I came to the USA for my studies since while I was still back in high school we did not write much. She was determined and was ready to learn more, as she was able to learn more about the computers as she was learning. Lopez experience can be compared to my experience when I came to the United States. I lacked much knowledge on the writing styles used in the US but after I had enrolled in my classes, I was able to learn first. The learning has made me be a non-blocker since I no longer face trouble in writing my essays.

On the other hand, taking a keen look at Deborah Brandt's article, ‘Sponsors of Literature' the character Raymond Branch brings the advantage of having experience in something. I cannot judge myself as perfect at writing because that might seem like miss judging myself. I do make a few mistakes here and there when writing a literature work, just like Ruth in the article, at times I write words and erase as I re-read and rewrite. In my case, I use this to ensure that I am able to produce a perfect piece of work. Through reviewing the articles of the others, I gain more knowledge and skills in my writings as a writer. I can improve through the learning of the mistakes made by blocker writers and take in some of the hints in becoming a good writer, the things are very useful to me as a writer.
