Advanced Practice Nursing is used in clinical practice and primary care as the basis of the patient care development and their experience within the healthcare facility. In education, Advance Nursing Practice helps to develop the different clinical roles that each nursing practitioner will embrace within the healthcare setting. ANP sets the pace for administration roles as it helps in the definition of which nurses should be accorded the titles of nurse supervisor. In health information, ANP shape the future of health information as it defines how care should be delivered and he delivery setting. Advanced Nursing Practice is the work or role of the nurses while the Advanced Practice Nursing is the whole field of nursing involving the environment and specificity of the roles of each nurse and how they exist.

It covers the background practice from science and humanities and is used to understand the integration of scientific findings. The findings that can be found using this include those within the biopsychosocial fields, public health, organizational sciences, nursing, genetic, and quality improvement which will help in the improvement of nursing care continually. The second essential covers organizational and systems leadership. This is necessary to ensure that patient care is safe and of high quality. In order for this to be successful, the master’s nurse will be able to help in the adoption of skills that will propel them into a leader. The sixth Essential is usually on Health Policy and Advocacy. It is a critical AACN Essential that has a huge relationship with the master’s prepare family nursing practitioner is the health policy and advocacy (Bickford, 2010).

This is because it helps them intervene the development process of the policy as well as help in the advocacy strategies that will help influence healthcare. 8th Essential has created a gap and this should be considered by ensuring Clinical Prevention and Population Health for Improving Health Facilities. Clinical Prevention and Population Health for improving health is the eighth Essential that is directly related to the work of a family nursing practitioner (Bickford, 2010). As a Family Nursing Practitioner, one is tasked with making judgement calls for the family on their healthcare in aspects such as the medication they make and even though they may have attachments to them, one has to keep that aside and rule ethically to prevent any misjudgments (Nurse Practitioner Core Competencies, 2016).

As a FNP one way in which the AACN Essentials can be used in practice is the identification of factors (legal, political, and economic) that have an impact on health care. This can be seen through the choices one makes within the facility. This will also help in the determination of patients that come in and balance books if you are running your own center (Bickford, 2010). During one’s practice as a FNP, they may be deployed in a facility that treats a community. Finally, if you are a family nurse practitioner help ensure at AACN Essentials are implemented into practice. As a prospective leader, the best choice within my field as I have embraced over time is democratic leadership. Even though I will hold the final responsibility for the tasks delegated throughout the healthcare facility, it is my belief that I will delegate duties to each nurse fairly and ensure all have contributions to the growth of the facility.

I must be communicative at all times thus the necessity for weekly meetings with the rest of my team to ensure we pass on all the information and respect is developed for each other. The leadership style is dependent on competence, honesty, creativity, intelligence, fairness, and courage. The decision making process of a nurse executive such as a nurse supervisor is paramount to ensure value-based care is achieved. Raising awareness of the responsibilities of a nurse supervisor in an oncology clinic is important due to the critical nature of their responsibilities as it affects the patient choices and treatment consent. This is a crucial topic that has been discovered for numerous years and the current federal law and state statutes have been put up in States all over the United States of America to help in governing these choice and consent to make sure they are safe and made with good intentions (Denbow, 2015.

Pp 110). One of commonly used state statutes is that in the 2016 Florida Patient’s Bill of Rights Chapter 381. This means that they are more likely to build a rapport with the patients and understand them better. Over time, a nurse will be able to gather more information about a patient by observing since they are with them a lot longer in comparison to the time the doctor may spend attending to them. In an oncology clinic, the physicians will only come for rounds and check on the progress of the patient while the nurse will offer primary care to the patient, administer medication and take record of their vitals. A nurse supervisor gets feedback on each patient from the nurses and this will help them understand them.

They will also likely see the interaction the patient has with their family to judge their closeness and their capacity to make concrete and maybe even life changing decisions such as the need for surgery. First, if the person is an adult in their right state of mind, they can give consent for their personal treatment. In addition to this if the person has a mental problem, a legal guardian is taken up to give the patient choice and treatment consent (Wooster & Wooster, 2016, pp1547). Minors are not given the choice to decide on their own patient care as their parents or guardians take u the responsibility. These are the people who are recognized by law and allowed to sign the consent form.

Secondly, making sure all questions are answered by the notable healthcare provider. The mental health of a patient needs to be determined before they are allowed to sign a consent form as they may be unaware of the procedure they are accepting. In failing to make sure this is done, there may be a chance of confusion and lead to the treatment of a patient in a manner they may be uncomfortable with or disapprove of if they were of sound mind. According to the Washington Health Manual Chapter 2A Section 7, “For a consent to be effective, the patient must be of sound mind and must voluntarily grant the consent. The patient should have a basic understanding of the nature and the consequences of authorizing treatment.
