The mothers is worried that her daughter is naïve and she is also sexually active at her age. The mother and Ted fear that if they mention their fear to Trisha she might end up feeling that they don’t trust her and may also force her to have sex. On the other side, Ted want to spent his vacation after completing school by visiting various part outside US. This has made her mother to be emotionally affected and also live with loneliness hence allowing her to come to live with them in their home. v) The chronosystem The chronosystem in the Landi’s family is normal and everything is running well. Considering the marital dyad in the Landis family, how is the marriage beneficial to the couple? Marriage is a very useful tool to the life of the couple and the people around the couple. Through marriage, the couple morally and financially support one another. A lovely couple satisfies each other emotionally, physically as well spiritually. Marriage enhances the couple to produce their own children or eve adopt. Having children is one of the greatest blessing that a couple enjoys and having a home is one of the joys of the children. Disorganized couple causes stress to either of the partners as well as to the children hence resulting to mental stress and criminal activities to the children due to poor parenting.

Therefore, good marriage and proper parenting guarantees parents successful children who acts as the pride for them in their old age ("5 Reasons Why Marriage is So Important - All Pro Dad", 2018) 4. She did not even have enough money to cater for her medication as she was under some controlled medications. She could not maintain physical outlook of her house due to her financial incapability. Additionally, when a person is widowed, she does not get the right support especially when she is sick and helpless. She does not either get the necessary moral support that is necessary for her health improvement. She does not get anyone to encourage her spiritually and emotionally especially when she is lonely and bored. Other factors that contribute to poverty are overpopulation, epidemic diseases and the world hunger which affect the world economic development.

The macro theories of poverty: i) Functionalist theory According to the functionalist perspective, a society is made up of socially interconnected parts working together so that they can maintain social equilibrium and balanced state for everyone in the society. In the functionalism aspect, each social institution in the society will make a significant contribution for the society. According to sociologists there are two types of functions namely latent and manifest functions ("Sociological Perspectives Reviewers", 2013) ii) Conflict theory Contrary to the functionalist theory, the conflict theory perceive a society being made up of various interest and groups of people who are in competition for both resources and power. According to this theory, the society does not work in a unified manner instead it is in conflict between different groups in the society.

Penny Lewis has a medical problem which requires attention and she has no one take care for her. Therefore, Maggie is forced to request her mother to move to their house to relieve her from emotional stress from the death of her husband as well as relieve her from the loneliness that affected her after the death of her husband. More so, her mother does not have enough money to cater for her medical bills as well as maintain her house. Additionally, Maggie is faced with the challenge of helping her daughter and son to cope with their young age. For instance, her daughter Trisha is becoming sexually active and she has already gotten a boyfriend. More so, alcoholism causes violence by the drunkards which may lead to damages both to properties and life.

On the other hand, alcoholism has a serious effect on the family. It drains family’s finances and other resources resulting to general poverty and poor economic development. In some cases, alcoholism results to family breakages which as a result may result desperate children especially when the parents separate. As a result, this may consequently to drop out of school by the victims of family break up who are the children. Physically, john might also invest in good house and may buying more properties so that he may feel his future is secured (McLeod, 2018) 9. Question nine According to Erikson, personality development and change is predetermined by the previous stage of growth and occurs in an orderly manner. The result of each maturation process is a combination of personal individual skills and life abilities that mostly work together in an individual. Erikson did not dwell only on the sexual developments like most of the researchers, his interest was in the children social relationships and how these relationships affect their thinking and sense. Question Ten Single parenthood is bringing up a child or children alone without the support of a partner (Malachi, 2017). If Trisha becomes pregnant most probably she ends up being a single mother. This is because the might get involved in a sexual relationship with a partner who is most likely is not prepared for marriage and maybe still a teenage boy in college. Its difficult for a parent to install and maintain discipline at home, the parent finds it difficult to teach the kids most of the basic discipline factors. Ted is also finishing college, school meant a lot to him and his family. This was the only linkup position and his parents were able to monitor him and understand his behavior while in school. After finishing he is going to be free and can roam around the society. his life may take another route. Ted is also preparing to go around Europe in a normal tour. Basically, it is good to listen to parental advice but if this is quite heavy for some kids, they should be taken to a counselor for better advice.

Trisha opens up to her mother about having a boyfriend. As much as the idea sounds good for her to be open and speak out. It is not in order for her to be in a relationship that may involve sexual activities Trisha requires a counselor to conduct some counseling and give advice. If she is not ready to attend a counseling session. The preventions strategies involve funded non-governmental organizations 14. Question fourteen The Landis family despite all the challenges they are undergoing, the family is able to stay together as one entity and support each member of the family.
