Chess involve high level of thinking since it is complex than checkers. These two games can influence the way people think and handle challenges in the real life situation. Chess approach guides individual’s to embark on extensive analysis of the matter at hand while checkers prepare people to tackle their challenges one at a time. Introduction Thinking about the differences in chess and checkers strategies prompts the mind to spark out a number of ideas. These two games require strategies that position a player to maximize his/her chances to capture their opponents’ pieces and avoid losing their own (Miller, 2015). Since checkers is the less complex among the two, it important to examine it first. Checkers The primary objective of a chase player is to become the last one remaining with at least one game piece on the playing board.

The game can be played by two players at a time. The players are given the same number of game pieces at the onset of the game. Each player must have a game piece of different color to facilitate identifications during the course of play. Each piece is tagged with rules on how it can be moved around and played during the course of the game. One piece is labeled the king, another one is the queen. There are 2 rocks, 2 bishops, 2 knights and 8 pawn pieces. There are many different ways the pieces can be moved during the game. This has led to the development of numerous strategies over the years. The player need to be cautious and think on how to avoid concentrating chess pieces on one side of the playing board.

During the opening phases of the game, the player should avoid moving his/her pieces beyond the 4th row on his/her side of the board. It is advisable to employ all means possible to avoid pinning down the opponent’s king’s knight before it has castled (Miller, 2015). This is a measure to ensure that the player is safe especially when he/she has castled on the king’s territory. When capturing the opponent’s pieces, the chess player needs to calculate on how to avoid making unnecessary exchanges that may develop another soft target for the opponent to easily collect the player’s piece. Once the player gains the control of the game through kings, it is easy to win the game by an impressive advantage. Playing chess or checkers religiously can influence one’s thinking in real life situation.

It has been observed that players who engage in either of these two activities have distinct way of thinking and approaching life. Chess players understand that every situation in life has its own specific moves independent of the other (Chabris, 2017). Every move affects or determines the impact of emerging challenges. Chese players are wired to believe that every move has reasonable time limits. The primary goal of checkers players is to eliminate every unpleasant experience presented by the enemies. Humans face their challenges differently. There are those who face their problems in line with chese players’ ideologies while others tackle their misfortunes according to the checkers players’ line of thinking. Those approaching life with checkers point of view are of the opinion that challenges can be eliminated one a time without involving deeper thinking.
