Computer Graphic Arts of 3D such as animation and modeling texture has created an entirely new dimension that is yet to be fully explored to its full potential. This paper will explore the comparison of photography and computer graphic art (GCA). FACTS ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY Historical Background of Photography Before the successful capture of a permanent image, there were several attempts by various individuals such as Johann Heinrich in 1717, Thomas Wedgwood 1800 among others. But the first successful caper of an image with a camera was by Nicephore Niepce in the mid-1820s. For the images to be captured, it required at least 8 hours to 7 days exposure in the camera was required but the images were blurry. The Ease in Creating Images and Communicate Ideas using Photographic Art They say that an artist is only limited to his or her creativity; a picture has the power to tell a thousand words and the value of pictures in the society is immense. An artist has the ability to visualize an image in his or her head and depict it in form of a painting or a picture. Artists can use photography to show their ideas to viewers who can interpret the messages intended for them. Photography is arguably one of the most vital components or instrument of communication for many artists. The language of photography continuously evolves from simple messages to more complex and interesting as it becomes a universal medium of communication all around the world.

Artists have the power of deciding whether they want their images to have either a long-lasting effect or a short-term effect on the viewers. The image can be presented using the maximum available space just to make it appear in an endless scrolling stream. But at the same time, not every viewer will understand the full message the artist intended to communicate. So, the artist has the option of writing something about the image just to make it clearer. This is achieved using captions or statements which give rich context to the image being viewed. The captions and statements reduce chances of subjective reading which allows the message of the image to be better understood. This easy to create art using software has resulted in some sort of conflict between the original artist and the technological embracing artists.

These original artists believe that computer generated arts lack authenticity and nothing to offer to the viewers. This sort of claim may be seen as a way of such artist to try to support their conventional ways of making art while others may see it as a dubious claim. Some artist also claims that pencil and paper is the only legitimate way of making true art but the truth of the matter is that the computer has a practical advantage over pencil and paper. However, drawings done by computers are neither compact nor portable as the ones done using the pencil and paper techniques. Even while drawing an art, not many artists are able to depict their final product in three dimensions using pencil and paper. This means that if the artist visualized the image in a three-dimensional format, there is no way for him or her to make that happen.

The artist will be limited to the fact that he or she lacks the capacity to create a three-dimensional figure or art.
