The growth and development of this virtue has been reportedly slower than usual in some sectors such as the health care system. The lag is attributed to the lack of adequate information regarding the implications of incorporating emotional intelligence at work. This work seeks to give insight regarding the subject matter. It describes emotional intelligence and the associated benefits of developing the same. It further relates the trait to the healthcare sector and highlights the benefits accrued from applying the same. This solely involves the management of the personal emotions recognized. Someone cannot be referred to as emotionally intelligent if they are unable to take charge of their feelings subsequent to their identification. The third component of emotional intelligence is motivation, and it involves the inward positive regard of situations regardless of their impossible or tough nature.

One has to remain motivated by all means. This is important to ensure that there is clear thinking and that judgment is not clouded whatsoever. The workability of the incorporation is elaborated on in the subsequent section about emotional intelligence and healthcare executives. Emphasis is laid on the importance of deploying the skills in ensuring success. This comes about as a result of the analogy and the fact that the healthcare environment is full of stressors and continues to evolve with time. The change aspect is a stressor on its own since professionals have to adjust to the changes as they come about. Emotional intelligence comes in handy in the health sector especially concerning the transition from various leadership and management levels. The leader then appropriately engages them with social prowess to encourage cooperation and embracing of changes. This is the only way the changes can be solemnly welcomed without a show of disregard to any staff.
