It is also a part of the Sky Team global alliance, because it is among its 4 founding members. It operates in both regional and international flights, where under the international hubs, it operates in countries and international cities such as Paris, Tokyo and also Amsterdam (Wilson, 2017). The US airline and flight is one of the most competitive industry, since it is crowded with so many companies operating in airlines and flights. It is also one of the most high risk market, where a company has to link business with operating models and apply an effective strategy to ensure its success. Delta Airlines is one of the organization that has greatly shown its efficiency and effectiveness in formulating and implementing outstanding strategies so as to stay ahead of its competitors.
The other one is the pricing strategy, considering how in the recent years flying has become cheaper, Delta still sticks with its premium ticket strategy, despite of other airline companies dropping their ticket prices by a bigger percentage. This is one of the advantage that it has over its competitors. Among the members of the Sky team global alliance, it is reported that Delta contributes more to the business revenue of the alliance compared to other members such as American airlines and United Continental holdings. I believe that its ticket prices are targeted at the wealthy, and it has proven to be a profitable and great strategy. The other strategies are innovative strategies such as, delta establishing its own oil refinery which helps in the management of its fuel costs.
