However, this struggle would be futile without French support since America lacked the necessary financial and human resources to conquer Britain. Therefore, France played a vital role in helping America attain independence. Significance of this study to history When celebrating the fourth of July (Independence day), little accord is given to France yet the French helped us with so much that they went bankrupt1. Gould is a renowned war researcher who has conducted numerous studies on various wars. The researcher studies the pre and post-war state of the nations in the war and tries to understand the impact of the war. In this research, she studies the relationship between France and the United States. He helped the French beat the British in Battle of the Chesapeake in 1781. Alongside studying the role of the general, he studies the role of France as a nation in the war.

In this book, the author studies the impact of arms and diplomacy on the American revolution. He states that France’s support to America was unrivalled and echoes the role of the navy in the war. This research assumes the role of Spain and Netherlands in the war despite their contribution to Britain’s defeat. The author uses cross-sectional research design and a qualitative research technique to identify conclusive arguments. This book relies on secondary sources and narrative analysis. I will use the findings from this study in my research paper because it discusses particulars of the American revolution highlighting the role of France in the war.

The author is a renowned author and American historian who studies bilateral and multilateral associations between nations. He has studied the world war, the civil war and the American revolution. This book denotes how French nationals sacrificed their freedom to help Americans. It states that direct and indirect French support was crucial to aiding America win the war. Direct support in Virginia prohibited the Royal Navy from evacuating Cornwallis’ troops. The book details the support accorded by France to America. This includes the phenomenal role played by Lafayette who was on Washington’s staff and represented France. He was a great strategist and he helped architect and pioneer the defeat of Britain.
