As an employee of Pikes Peak Manufacturing Company (PPM) I support the beliefs of the CEO that the company can improve the customer value by enhancing the team-oriented culture. This would eventually lead to the production of the products that fully satisfy the needs of the customer through enhanced creativity, a proper involvement of the staff members in decision-making and effective channels of conflict resolutions among the team members. Currently, PPM team culture primarily focuses on private ownership of the company by one family, strong entrepreneurial culture, high level of work ethics, whereby the managers are supposed to work between 50 and 60 hours every week, a team of employees, who have the personalities to persist in their endeavors, a competent executive team, and a high performing team.

However, the team would need to improve on certain areas in order to create a competitive team culture that is oriented towards enhanced satisfaction of the customer values. One would also realize that informal teams are more essential than the formal teams, thus; I would help PPM to maximize the customers' values by advising the management to focus on encouraging the informal teams more than the formal teams. On the other hand, I would help the company to improve the customers' values through proposing that the company to possess a cross training to the employees so that every employee would be given an opportunity to learn other person's jobs. Consequently, this would help to lower the working hours of the managers from 50 to 60 hours a week to approximately 40 hours every week.

Whenever a team has accomplished or exceeded its goals, members should be acknowledged and rewarded for the success as this will go a long way in enhancing team performance and impact positively to the company and to customers too. Training The company should also focus on training the members of the team because through the training, the team members and leaders would be informed about the vision and direction of the company. Even though the company would spend too much money in order to offer training for the employees, training of the team members should be incorporated in the culture of teamwork because it gives the members ample opportunity to expand their knowledge about the internal and external environments of the firm (Lundeen & Padilla, 2013, p.

Incorporating annual training as part of the teamwork culture is an essential step of facilitating the continuous production of team leaders so that PPM does not lack the leaders to take the organization to the next level in terms of customers’ satisfaction. On the other hand, as a culture, involving training of the workers should also promote competition among the employees. Such competitions should be in terms of satisfaction of the requirements in the market. Therefore, it should be a norm that during such pieces of training, the best workers in terms of improving the gap between the customers and PPM should be rewarded based on merits. This would improve the performance index, which is a crucial step towards bridging the gap between the market and the firm.

This would eventually reduce the time wasted due to unwanted communication hence streamlining office communication. Even though having procedures are often cumbersome, developing and enforcing steps of communication would help to eliminate chances of confusion within the company. However, before implementing the procedures of communication within PPM, the managers should ensure that the employees are trained adequately on the requirements of such procedures. The team culture should also comprise of platforms where the staff members of PPM would be sharing new ideas, project updates, customers’ complaints, the order of the day’s activities, and other necessary updates. Besides, PPM could also use daily updates on the notice boards so that the company does not necessarily rely on email since some of the employees take time to log in to their email accounts.

However, while establishing a culture of a continuous process of selecting, developing, and training staff members and leaders, the CEO should be cautious to consider various factors (Lundeen & Padilla, 2013, p. For example, when selecting the group leaders, the selection panel should ensure that only those who have demonstrated the ability to influence others, integrity, transparency, accountability, and credibility within the organization. The culture should also incorporate regular training for the new team members, the new employees selected, and the new leaders to inform them about the mission and direction of the team and the company. The culture of creating teamwork should also involve regular assessment of the team to facilitate accountability and customers’ satisfaction. On the other hand, setting the objectives of the team would also be a necessary part of the teamwork culture.

Such challenges include; prejudice, ethnocentrism, stereotypes, blaming the victim, harassments, discrimination, and backlash. Prejudice involves having a negative opinion regarding other peoples' culture while ethnocentrism encompasses the tendency to view one's own culture superior to the others' culture (Lundeen & Padilla, 2013, p. Stereotypes are fixed or informed information regarding a particular person or culture and in most cases, such fixed ideas are relating to negative opinions about such people. On the other hand, discrimination involves barring a given person from joining a particular group based on informed opinion. Harassments are the verbal or physical abuse of a person probably because such a person belongs to a particular group perhaps the minority group. On the other hand, the company should create a teamwork culture that promotes effective relationships between the workers of different cultural background through forming a positive relationship among the employees.

The culture should also focus on seeking feedback from the diverse members of staff regarding the ability of the members to communicate with mutual respect and value of others' diversity. Besides, the culture should demand that people from the minority group should be treated like guests instead of being discriminated and treated as strangers in the company. The company should also create a culture of teamwork that encourages individual and the entire management of the company to focus on all-inclusivity. The individuals’ strategies of promoting inclusiveness that should be incorporated in the culture include accepting the overseas duties whenever one is given such an opportunity, learning other peoples' languages, and other peoples' cultural practices as a technique of conducting business activities in all parts of the world.

For example, the team could decide that the rewards are given to the winners probably during the workshop training, seminars, and conferences. This would ensure that the company does not only focus on rewarding and motivating the team members but also ensuring that training of the workers is always implemented. In fact, the company could also decide to name the annual celebration after a prolific leader that had been dedicated to ensuring that the implementation of the teamwork culture is successful. According to the recent researches, through such initiatives, the team members would be motivated to work harder for the project to be implemented and protected to last. Management should also ensure that the annual allocations for the proposed projects are readily available so that all the steps are implemented without facing many obstacles.

As a new employee at PPM, I believe that by helping the company to develop a culture of continuous training of team members, I shall have significantly contributed to the growth and enhancement of customer values. Therefore, I would suggest that the company should adopt a teamwork culture, which involves organizing workshop training, conferences, and seminars for the employees. Such opportunities are necessary for workers to learn and understand the prevailing market demands (Wilaisakoolyong, 2017, p. Besides, through the training, the team members would have the opportunity to learn the strategies that are used by the competing firms to win the market demands. Such opportunities would also be important for the team members to improve their levels of creativity depending on the gaps that exist between the company and its customer values.
