Specific factors may affect the functioning of the brain example illness can affect the operation of the brain. Many diseases affect the brain, and one of them is post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is caused by traumatic conditions that a person may have undergone or are undergoing. The disease is curable if treated early. The disease affects the lifespan development of a person. The clients are observed to be withdrawn and depressed while others are hostile. The employee recommends that the clients to seek psychological help and their employer to find out why they have PTSD. Type of Organization, Clients, and Stage of Development The kind of organization for the clients is a hospital. The clients are both male and females, and their stage of development in the middle adult.

Cognitive Development Cognitive development is the study of a child’s psychological and neurological development. Two, assimilation which involves applying new knowledge. Three, adaptation ability to build on previous experience. Four, equilibration which involves when information fits into the schema then cognitive development occurs but when the data does not fit then there is a problem in development. Finally, stages of cognitive development. The Effects of PTSD on Cognitive Development in Middle Adulthood PTSD means post-traumatic stress disorder is experienced when a person undergoes a traumatic experience. Lifespan Development Post-traumatic stress disorder effects on cognitive development is a subject that needs to be addressed as PTSD can affect the lifespan of a person. The lifespan theory explains the various stages that a person goes through in his lifespan (Baltes, Lindenberger, & Staudinger, 2007) A disease like PTSD can affect one of these stages.

A person who gets affected by the disease may act differently from the rest. Theory and Research In this case, the cognitive approach is applied, the method relates to how a person can think, solve problems, how attentive the person is and other activities that relate to the functioning of the brain. If a person is not able to undertake the above events, then the person suffers from cognitive impairment (Shubina 2015). People with PTSD are always depressed, and their thoughts are far away. Some may seem scared, and others may act defensively as a result of the trauma they experienced. Findings and methods Some of the results found from the research are that PTSD affects the cognitive and social development of middle-aged people.

People who have PTSD are likely to suffer from cognitive impairment, and this changes the way they relate to one other and how they carry their work. People with the condition suffer from both physical and mental conditions which prevent them from performing their duties as expected. So they were efficient for collecting data by the human lifespan development researchers. However, they also have some drawbacks one the questions from the survey are unappropriated and so they may not address the people as they would want to be addressed. Two, people may fail to respond to the research questions or answer wrongly. From the findings, it is evident that trauma can affect the cognitive development of a person as it alters the ways a person behaves.

Further, not only the mental status of the person but also the physical state. The service for which such a group can be offered includes counseling to prevent them from getting infected with the illness. Since the people suffer from cognitive and social development, they can be involved in activities that will help them solve the problem. The service can also involve the people being taught how to deal with a traumatic situation whereby they can also assist other sick people. How does the research findings affect professional values? From the research, since it is evident that PTSD affects the person cognitive development a professional worker with the disorder is likely to act unprofessionally. From the study, we learn that a person with the condition may be unorderly and this may affect him professionally (Tull, & Gans 2017).
