Is The one and Only Ivan Fictional Novel Suitable for Kids

Ivan understands that the world is not perfect but defined by diversity and he makes no efforts to alter it. Although Ivan’s life revolves around the cage he does let that define him and he goes ahead to use the art of drawing to communicate his story. It is an undisputed fact all humans have flowed as evidenced by the different weaknesses of the animal and human characters that makes them peculiar. Through Ivan, the reader gets to learn that no matter what the circumstances or environment it is important to maintain a more humane heart. Not only is the book appealing to children but also the author of this book has used various animal characters and given them human qualities to help the reader view themselves from the point of view of animals.

Through Ivan, the author of the book teaches kids to be themselves and try as much as possible to practice patience. Mack who is the boss of the works at the mall as the boss grows impatient when he does not receive clients to see the animals and decides to sell Ivan and others. Ivan learns the language of humans by practicing patience unlike Mack who is impatient. Additionally, Ivan is trying to depicting the human race through the lens of pleasing others. He is preaching that we should only concentrate on doing what makes as happy. I have a gorilla’s shy gaze, a gorilla’s sly smile. I wear a snowy saddle of fur, the uniform of a silverback.
