Thus, the following paper will endeavor to provide a synthesis on the selected peer-reviewed 15 articles that focus on reducing patients fall. After the analysis of the 15 peer-reviewed articles, several salient concepts were identified as well as subthemes that will be elaborated in this paper. The following are the major concepts that were identified from the 15 articles: I. Nursing Diagnosis as a concept II. Environment as a nursing concept III. Deficiency of Nursing Prevention strategies was characterized by lack of using the waterfall signs, employing the yellow fall risk armbands as well as yellow nonskid socks, particularly on fall risk patients. Additionally, it was also noted that most of the nurses do not activate the bed exit alarms, a situation that has caused a rising trend on patients fall.

The second subtheme that was addressed within this concept was about the factors that correlated with the patients’ fall. It was noted the most major cause of patients’ fall was due to the fact that most of the new nurses lack the basic knowledge on fall prevention strategies. It is clear most of the health institutions do not train their new nurses adequately and for that reason, they are not familiar on how to observe safety practices that will enhance the safety of patients. Lack of creating an environment that is free of hazards has predisposed plenty of patients to awful events such as patients’ fall and therefore they tend to receive prolonged admission period due to lack of managing effectively the prevailing environment of the nurses.

The above concept was guided by the following research question: What are the fall reduction strategies that can employed to mitigate the fall rate among patients? The researcher aimed to identify the intervention practices that can be employed to curb the rate of patients fall in healthcare settings. The study recruited a sample of 37-bed population of patients. The data that was to be collected from the targeted sample population was to be based on the findings from pre and post-intervention outcomes. However, the entire study was limited on the fall rate of the patients and therefore the quality outcomes of nurses was assessed based on the prevalence of patients’ fall. This has reduced patients’ experiences of healthcare services due to the fact that most of the nurses are not fully aware of their comprehensive roles that they are required to execute.

The last subtheme that was addressed under the health of patient as a concept was the need to undertake efforts that will broaden the comprehension of the need to observe the recommended clinical nursing practices. As per the empirical research findings, the health as a nursing concept should focus on the utilization of social, personal as well as physical abilities in order to promote the health and recovery of patients. The studies revealed that health is a holistic view that entail resource for achieving social, economic and also personal development that will enhance quality of life among the patients. Absence of any resource that is contained within the health concept has contributed significantly to high rates of patients’ fall that is experienced in various hospitals.

The actual process of nursing as a concept was explored in most of the articles that I reviewed. Nursing is considered not only as a science but also as an art. Within this concept, the subtheme of learning leadership and employment of approaches that will enhance meeting all the needs that are crucial to patients’ well-being were explored. According to the empirical findings, it is crucial to formulate leadership styles and encourage use of clinical practice that will promote in quick-reasoning, ethical practices, and cohesiveness among the healthcare providers. The findings of the empirical studies revealed that nurses have failed to observe their main nursing duties and for that reason, the concept of nursing has failed to achieve in promotion of the well-being, prevention of diseases and injury and also doing whatever possible in order to ease suffering.

The empirical studies have proposed various optimal models that can be used to implement in-service training programs among the nurses. It was noted that when the nurses are equipped with the current and relevant skills they are able to effectively implement proactive measures that will enhance the well-being of patients is protected. The findings of the empirical studies revealed that inadequate In-service training of nurses has been the major cause of the challenges that confront nurses during service delivery to patients. Among the challenges that are witnessed within the medical nursing practice is the fall of the patients which can be controlled and avoided if only nurses can be subjected to intensive training on how to observe safety precaution measures. The following are the research questions that were used in the empirical studies: What are the support strategies that can be provided to nurses to prevent patients’ fall? How can a multi-agency approaches be developed to reduce the number of patients falling both at home and in hospital? However, the studies were faced by major limitations such as the entire studies focused on assessing only six factors that are usually associated with Morse tool; History of falls, subsidiary diagnosis, Mobility Aids, Attachment to equipment, Gait and lastly Mental Status.

Therefore, learning of the various factors that influence the behavior and the health of human beings is an imperative undertaking within the nursing profession. Mitigating the incidences of patients’ fall necessitates the nurses to study the stages of development and several other factors such as biological and sociocultural elements. The second subtheme that was also analyzed was environment. The sub-context of environment was regraded to entail the mores, values societal values and the customs that they are practiced by people. The findings of the summarized data from the various empirical findings indicated that environment has a significant role in enhancing the well-being of patients. Nevertheless, the studies failed to account that lack of essential attributes of nurses such as empathy, respect and also altruism which have a substantial influence in the overall outcome of patients.

The empirical studies concluded that use of analytical thinking and also advanced clinical evaluation making to evaluate the health needs of patients along with their households can be helpful in formulating a comprehensive health promotion and ill-health management programs. Therefore, it was suggested that nurses should be prepared to employ theoretical as well as empirical knowledge as a basis for highly developed nursing practice. References Blegen, M.
