As a result, the dynamite program functions to alleviate instances of substance abuse by attempting to create a drug-free society. The dynamite program offers one-year residential care that is followed by an extensive outpatient services, job planning and training thus ensuring a society of drug-free adolescents. The Dynamite youth program, a model designed to offer to counsel teenagers on substance abuse, attempts to alleviate substance abuse within the community. Additionally, the Dynamite youth program specializes in the teenage population as this age group is highly affected by substance abuse since their brains are not fully developed (‘NIDA,’ 2016). The program also offers education programs and counseling aimed at creating a positive change amongst adolescents. Some of the common problem experienced with teenage substance abuse include chances of school dropout, in that school going children who engage in substance abuse would easily drop out of school.

Another problem is the possibility of addiction due to constant use (Tremain et al. Teenagers experience failed chances in their attempts to quit substance abuse; thus the main reason for the establishment of the dynamite youth programs. Another way in which the issue of substance abuse affects teenagers is that they develop increased chances for engaging in criminal activities and unlawful behaviors such as raping and stealing. Challenges and Barriers in Tackling this Issue Some challenges are barriers experienced in the course of handling the dynamite youth program from financial constraint to managing the teenagers at the program. It thus becomes difficult to coordinate them and give them directions on what is expected of them. There are constant issues of violence and behaviors considered to jeopardize the rights of others within the youth dynamite setting.

Some possible challenges that may arise may include issues with mismanagement and improper coordination. The program requires persons with the capacity to carry out management effectively. The program is highly effective as it offers counseling sessions, which could have individualized or group based. During such sessions, the counselor can identify some of the possible driving factors to drug use and therefore can identify suitable intervention for each person. Advocating for change is crucial in maximizing positive outcomes. For instance, some of the changes that the program requires include effective leadership mad management, the management team should comprise of people highly skilled and devoted to bringing the best of the program. Policies that select the management should prioritize on a proficient team of managers.
