Parental involvement in children education

Advantages To begin with, recent research has shown that children whose parents control the way they progress in their academics study better than those ignored because are also likely to have more self-motivation, esteem, confidence and be more disciplined regardless of their economic, social or ethnic background. For example, when a parent expresses a high but realistic expectation from children academics, they work hard to meet the expectation and hence performing better and better each time. I improved in mathematics because my parents kept reminding me that I can do better on the subject than what I was doing. I worked extra hard to meet their expectation. Disadvantages However, if parents take the involvement in the education so far, they became a source of distraction to both the child and the teacher.
