Research shows that half of the population suffer from a sleep disorder depending on the disorder being studied and the number of people. This paper will uncover various sleep disorders and their treatment possibilities. Insomnia Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder in which one experiences consistent difficulty in falling and staying asleep. An individual suffering from this condition usually waits for a long time in their beds before sleeping. Moreover, sleepers tend to wake up at night and then they experience difficulty getting back to sleep. Psychoanalysis treatment of insomnia focuses on cognitive process and problem behavior whereby stress management techniques and change of problematic behaviors contributing to insomnia are intensively dealt with. According to many psychologists, cognitive-behavior therapy is the most effective way of treating insomnia.

Sleepwalking Sleepwalking also called somnambulism is a sleep disorder in which someone wakes up at night and walks up to someone else or something else. The sleepers engage in complex behaviors varying from one wandering about to driving a car. Most of Sleepwalkers eyes are wide open, but the condition makes it difficult for them to respond. Many affected people are not aware of their sleep apnea condition, but they know of their more adversative consequences of inadequate sleep. It’s common for individuals suffering from this condition to be afraid that lack of sleep will affect their careers. This can be illustrated by a statement from a sleep apnea patient “I’m in a job where there’s a premium on being mentally alert.
