It has since changed its name to Uber and offers a wide variety of services that accommodative to all ranks of riders. With these variable services, Uber offers cheap and convenient services thus carving a niche for itself especially among the young and savvy professionals who are mainly immersed in social media. Uber is constantly searching for ways to make its services better and outcompete its competitors. For this reason, it is periodically diversifying its range of services provided by acquiring vehicles. Uber is not only aimed at providing top of the notch services to its customers but also giving its drivers a good deal. Uber faces competition from other cab companies and public transportation, but with proper marketing, that is not a big issue.

SWOT ANALYSIS OF UBER Uber is one of the start-ups that showed the power of the internet. Uber has the highest number of fleets of automobiles but does not own a single car of its own. Uber allows a customer to order for a cab online and the cab comes to the doorstep. These services have low prices as compared to traditional cabs and make the customer experience memorable and easy at the same time. Generally, Uber is a low-cost business. Emphasis on customer satisfaction, Uber is mainly concerned with customer satisfaction. The company has understood that there is constant competition from other Cab companies (Dudovskiy, 2018). To be ahead of their competitors, Uber needs to provide top of the notch services to its customers.

It also entices customers by providing free rides, credits, discounts and promo codes. This allows both the driver and the company to earn money. Uber also offers luxury based revenue model on the basis of the premium requested by the customer, differentiating the prices from the normal pricing. The prices also rise according to demand thus allowing the driver to earn more. Weaknesses High dependency on human labor; the drivers are the main face of Uber and lack of drivers can lead to major losses to this company (Dudovskiy, 2018). The image of the company mainly relies on the behavior and expressions of the drivers to the customers. Increased internet penetration in most countries, especially the developing ones is a big opportunity for Uber to expand.

With better internet connectivity there is more use of smartphones and technological advancements and thus expansion of companies such as Uber in such cities. Uber can develop in unlimited locations, unlike the traditional cabs that are restricted to a specific geographical location. With Uber services available in over five hundred countries throughout the globe, it is easier for it to expand further and thus opening doors to new opportunities that result in higher revenue generation. Due to many people having higher disposable income, they are able to spend it on luxury goods. High rates of competition lead to customers switching to other brands leading to difficulty in retaining customers and drivers as well. d. Constant revolts and strikes from the unorganized market; the unorganized market of cab companies and drivers can revolt against Uber for taking away their drivers and customers. These strikes and revolts are disadvantageous to the Uber Company as it leads to loss of time and revenue. The food will then be delivered within minutes of ordering at the doorstep. Through Uber Freight, Uber is able to help a customer match with shippers and carriers to allow them to haul for the loads they want to be transported. Through the App, the customers will know how much they will pay for their load. This service is convenient and available 24 hours in 7 days a week. Uber health is making healthcare more reliable by providing fast and convenient rides for patients.

The convenience of Uber cabs is one of its strengths, factors such as certainty of getting a ride, pricing, cashless payment mode, exclusive rides, shorter waiting time, availability and tracking of rides are some the things that attract customers to Uber. CRITICAL ISSUES Uber is facing more of tax issues, with the government accusing it of leaving the taxes to the drivers who are reluctant in paying taxes. If the government decides that Uber is a technological company and that the entire ride payment is its, then Uber will have to pay taxes to the government. With this, Uber prices will definitely go up leading to a reduction of rides and revenue. Some cities have banned the cab company claiming that its operations are illegal.

UberAUTO is taxi service offered in Pakistan where customers book an auto instead of a car. Uber TAXI allows customers to book a cab for a whole day in order to travel long distance outstation trips. In Croatia and Istanbul Uber launched boat services where a customer is able to book water rides using the app. In Nairobi, Uber launched Uber motorbike services where a customer can order motorbike services instead of cabs (Dudovskiy, 2018). UberRush offers package courier services, UberEATS allows customers to order food. Promotions Uber uses an organized mode of promoting its products in order to maintain its loyal customers. Today Uber has ventured into digital marketing and advertisement in order to reach a high number of customers and increase revenue collection. People Being a service providing company, Uber is extremely keen on including people on its marketing mix. Currently, Uber has valued at $ 72 billion and at the second quarter of the financial year it was able to generate revenue of $2. 7billion, this is a loss of $404. 0 million from last financial year revenue. Uber gets its funding from over twenty investors, such as Menlo Ventures and New Enterprise Associates among other organizations. Uber received its last funding of $ 2billion two months ago. The positioning and pricing strategy used by Uber in different cities depending on strata to attract and retain customers is of real benefit to the company.
