Visions and Goals In Child Psychology

Autism is a serious development disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. This was brought forth by my sister's son suffering from autism thus my urge to help him out developed a passion of child psychology in me. My short-term goal is to earn my Master's in psychology specializing in child psychology and mainly major on children with autism. My long term goal is to set up an institution that helps the children recover so that they can serve their purpose in the society. The institution will be interact oriented. I figured out that with this children having someone who cares about them and is willing to do all they can in their ability to make them better their lives would be much easier.

I would like to see a child suffering from autism go all the way in the societal chain. They should have equal opportunity to achieve like the other children. PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENT The skills I require as a child psychologists include the personal skill of trustworthy and kindness. This is because the children should see me and feel at ease and safe thus they can open up to me. The internship will put me in the field and allow me to work under supervision of a licensed psychologist. The psychologist will equip me with counselling skills and enable me to work with children with various need including autism which I want to major on. I am also required to complete a researchor practice based PhD thus I have to go through a master's degree in child psychology.

For me to work as a child psychologist I have to be licensed by the united states bureau of statistics. To accomplish this I have to complete my program in this accredited school and later practice my internship in an accredited institution. I accomplish this by first ensuring that our meeting is at a safe and private location. If in any case, I notice that my professional services are not benefiting the client I should withdraw my services. For instance, if I have had a client for almost a year and there is no change at all in their communication and interaction , I should let go of them because it is crystal clear that what I am trying to do with them is not working.

I should also ensure that I provide services that are of no potential harm to the client. Finally, the principles expect me to know how to make public statements. al, 2017).
