What is the risk of giving noncontingent feedback? Miss Erney should appreciate her second-grade class students for generally making an effort to complete the tasks given. Noncontingent feedback can discourage the student because they believe that the tutor believes that they do not have the ability to do better which demotivates them and lowers their opinion of their learning capacities. What are three techniques that can be used to promote proactivity? Give an example of each technique. Proactivity is based on a belief that one can control events in his own life through his own effort. (I make effort to study to make my grade). Self-concept refers to an individual’s perception of his or her abilities and not really what others feel about his/ her abilities.

If a student does not receive any point for a particular feature then he does not belong to that instructional level. Billy’s teacher may choose to use curriculum-based measurement of spelling skills. Give the procedure for administering and scoring spelling word lists. What would be the suggested instructional level for Billy in terms of correct letter sequences, and what would be an appropriate long-range goal? Billy’s teacher can make use of curriculum-based measurement and the procedure will be setting an oral assessment to the students. For example, through dictation of sentences as the students write them down. Give an example of how to assess Billy’s spelling performance through combinations of the five input/output channels in sensory modality preference testing.

Discuss how Billy’s teacher can use the information from this kind of assessment to plan individualized instruction for Billy. This input includes, auditory-vocal, auditory-motor, visual-vocal, visual motor and multisensory combination channel. These assessments are about sensory testing for example the teacher can spell words loudly and require Billy to orally spell the word again, or the tutor can spell the word and Billy writes the word on a paper. Through this Billy will improve on his spelling skills individually. Through this the student develop effective writing. Tom’s teacher can present strategies to help improve Tom’s writing.
