The same is done in regards to the ultimate outcome and rated just from the wholesomeness of the action (Incurrence and consequences). An individual determines what moral thing to do on particular occasions by appraising the price tag of his action’s expenditure and the ultimate benefits that the individual’s actions will have on the members of the given community; the action that will have a higher percentage benefit is thus the action to go by. Considerations to determine the moral thing to do are the ultimate benefit that the action will have to individuals in the community, the direct cost and indirect cost related to the action, the future consequence of the action and lastly the alternative actions that can be done (Albee 2014).
Why is utilitarianism attractive to many? Discuss three (3) reasons. According to Barrow (2015), utilitarianism is quite attractive to many as it has been applied in business institutions and organizations as well as in daily expenses of individuals. How does utilitarianism support the ecological ethic? When certain justifications are made not only the human race are considered but rather the entire entity of the whole earth, on this note, the entire environment is considered and cared for. The fact that what is right thing is applicable, the rest of the species of the world are also considered and tended to well. Thus any action that has to be undertaken must benefit the whole community and in this way, anything that correlates to the human being livelihood are considered.
