Nationalism may lead to crime against a group that does not belong to the receiving nation. This implies that immigrants are not welcome. If we assume that the research uses this theory, then the fact that Denmark violates the rights of immigrant children is justified and should not affect its international policies and foreign affairs negatively (Wendt & Alexander P. However, this theory is weak because it only assumes the intentions of the immigrants. Besides, there are countries that have accepted immigrants without experiencing the potential threats as suggested by this theory. For instance, a state may adopt policies on immigration best on the international relations or systems. A state may decide that it do not want to have negative impact on its foreign policies and foreign affairs.
