For example, a healthcare setting is dynamic and requires a leader with the best styles owing to the complex and emergency cases of this type of environment. A good leader has the abilities that help him in developing his style of leadership essential for judgment, ability, innovation, knowledge development and interpersonal tactics (Howell, 2012). A good leader is best known during the time of conflicts that is common in any healthcare setting. This involves the swiftness and effectiveness of his application of conflict management tools. This is a leader that is assertive and knows that unless there is a force applied somewhere the conflict will only get bigger. He is always very busy with his work and does not seek attention like many other leaders (Martindale, 2011). The leader in this category pursues interests of others which involve making unconditional promises, unilateral concessions and offering help freely without expecting to receive back. This was a high score which indicated that the leader is not overly avoiding. For instance, a steward leader is inspiring and transformative and can inspire their employees to achieve excellence. The transformative skills of this leader make him well used to the organization's goals and objective (Mumford, 2000). For instance, at times a steward leader faces challenges situation due to lack of authority. This is because he has interacted with the followers so much that most may fail to value his position of authority. This is a weakness that may compromise the manner in which the workers undertake their duties. There is also the weakness of limited vision in this style of leadership. This is because it becomes difficult to separate the roles of the leader from that of the employees (Lussier, 2010). However, it is essential to understand that even though the score about avoiding is this low, it is still essential for a steward leader.
